A GENTLE REMINDER: we are trying to eliminate fossil fuels because using them kills us.
If fossil fuels were cheap (they're not) or reliable (they're SO NOT), it would still be urgent to get rid of them because their intended use destroys our life support systems.

The @nationaltrust.org.uk only rarely ask their members to take political action, but when they do, itโs seismic.
Please take the NTโs action, email your MP demanding the Government protect 30% of the UK for nature by 2030: campaigns.nationaltrust.org.uk/page/186395/...

Cowslip - primula veris
For #wildFlowerHour, a cowslip for #cowslipchallenge (and because itโs Easter thereโs also a bit of Good Friday grass, if you look close enough).
Just up the road in Hook, we seeing too many threats including 2200 homes between Hook & Hartley Wintney on a30, one of developers team talked about draining into the river Whitewater - not good, we need protection for our chalk streams

Such an odd list of books, and for many you wonder why - the Dan Brown may not be great literature, but readable and fun puzzle solving, and made me read more about art/the places. We are living in dystopian times, Orwell & Atwood were ahead of their times & so right!
Wood anemone - Anemone nemorosa
Wood anemone, just starting to flower in NE Hampshire #wildflowerhour - they spread very slowly perhaps 6 ft in a 100years - so a marker of ancient woodland
Just think if you put that money into renewables, how weโd be more isolated from oil crises in the future, obviously itโs long term, but makes more sense to aim harder for net zero
Have the fossil-fuel-funded Tories / Refukkers, who insist we need more North Sea oil production instead of net zero, ever explained why, when it would be sold on the international market at the Brent Crude price which has risen 66% this yr?
In reality, net zero is the route to energy independence.
Bluebells - always an early patch of bluebells, by a little patch of water in Winchester
White sweet violet along a footpath in Winchester
Early dog Violet, in the local woods - no wood anemones or bluebells in the woods
Cowslips
For #wildflowerhour #spring - bluebells, sweet violet, early dog violet and cowslips
If it's sometimes hard to tell the difference between fossil-fuel lobbyists and the billionaire press, that's because there isnโt one.
My column on the politicians, journalists and junktanks using the Iran crisis as an excuse to extract our remaining gas and oil.

The joy of ๐ฆ, you can admire flowers from around the world, some fab flowers from Death Valley (we wonโt be going to the US any time soon, but so lovely to see pics)
