The fact so many people are being impacted by axios is an irritation not just because it's yet another npm supply chain attack but also that in 2026 I'm really not sure why anyone is using it in new projects instead of browser based fetch and NodeJS Native fetch...

Over the past 2 years I've steadily moved to more and more self hosted tooling and services.

Annoyingly, my big blocker is actually communication platforms. Discord, WhatsApp etc are simply too ingrained with the general public and avoiding them locks you out of too much social interaction.

I've officially moved my personal game dev projects to #gitea. I actually can't be arsed dealing with copilot being fucking everywhere.

A key benefit is that the player puppets will also work for NPCs.

While I do respect it and i understand the reasoning. I've also had to deal with enough bug reports caused by the over zealous use of adblock ( combined with the misuse of tag manager ) that I can't do this out of respect for other developers 😅
