Doring more experimenting with userdata operations in #picotron - this time out a particle system with batch drawing. The result: fireworks over Düsseldorf, reflected in the Rhine.
So, finding out userdata operations in #picotron are pretty powerful? Here's real-time handwritten digit recognition in Picotron, with the model updating each frame and only using around 4% of the CPU.

It's been a year (March 14, 2024, I believe) since Picotron's alpha released, so I made a big blog post cataloging (most of) the stuff I've made in #Picotron in the past year!
A larger-scale sense of value change for the top of the cloud vs the bottom. Think of the whole thing as one big blob, what should be light vs dark?
I never thought about doing node garden type stuff with non-random point sets. This is very cool! 👀

Another #pixelart landscape, more WIP on #picotron extended palette. I've re-arranged the additional indices to align with the first two rows of 16. bottom half palette is just colors repeated but in ramp arrangement simliar to gfx editor.
Working on polishing up the shop cartridge, I'm not tottaly set on the character art yet though.

#picotron mockup: stickers can be attached to any window and live in file metadata. They can be used to bookmark, annotate, or tag arbitrary files. For some apps, they can be attached with finer granularity: e.g. to a line of code or an xy on a map layer. Here is a dev/player making notes on a map.

Fantasy consoles do it right; convenience of built in tools, immediate mode drawing api where you control everything down to the pixel. Smol enough you don’t need GPU for tricky stuff
