The hummingbird came for a visit! I need to reorganize my plants to get the lavender up higher. I’m glad she saw the flowers and I hope she keeps coming back as they produce more blooms. 🌸
I have to store up my bird photos for Bird of the Day so here is a cute ladybug from today’s walk.
It looks like I have a Mr and Mrs Snax. It’s hard to tell the male and female Juncos. Females are a little duller but still have the dark heads.

My friend’s memorial service starts in 2 hours. I’m already crying and I haven’t even gotten dressed yet. This is going to be a rough day.

I just met this little Sparrow fella on my walk today. I also submit a few others including a Junco, Red-winged blackbird and a Hooded Merganser.

If you are anywhere at risk, get your go-bag in order. It’s scary how fast fire moves. I’m hoping there isn’t property loss.
The little ponds are my favorite bird watching spots. A short walk from home can show me Kinglets, house finches, red-winged blackbird, Juncos, Chickadees, heron, various ducks, hummingbirds. Yesterday a Northern Flicker was hunting for snacks and a Junco played hide and seek.
I went for a walk around my usual birding loop. Today I saw what I thought was some kind of weather vane until it moved.
