I can’t help on Series 1 Landies, but I must thank you for those pictures as I’m just building the Revell 1/24 S3 and I’d struggled to find any real-life examples of the roof rails provided in the kit. Those images prove that at some point, rails were mounted directly on the ‘tropical’ roof…

I believe they have the name ‘Maxi’ available to them…

Thanks! I'm a big fan of folding rotors for saving display space, especially for larger helicopters, and an even bigger fan of kit-supplied blade supports to save scratch-building your own (really I should revisit a couple of Sea Kings and add the supports...)

We visited the Boscombe Down Aviation Collection this morning (great to see new exhibits like the Beagle Basset CC1 and the English Electric P1A) and then Heale Gardens, both near Salisbury. Great coffee & cakes at Heale, and very good gardens, especially the Japanese-inspired are. We'll be back!

I was 2 when the Lynx first flew, and probably nearly within earshot of it… It’s still a shock seeing what I think of as a modern helicopter, in air museums!
