Ipek Gorgun “Earthbound” CD cover.
It’s #cdfriday!
I make an effort to buy anything that’s released on @touch33.net though admittedly it can take time to catch up on listening.
Always felt bad to crush so many dreams with “you know you’re gonna be writing a lot of lab reports, right?”
Nah, per course. Overall, I find it’s good to drop a few obscenities here and there because it keeps them awake.
I allot myself one f-bomb per class, per semester.
This was a very pleasant surprise today.
Head of David “Seed State” CD case/cover.
It’s #CDFriday
Unquestionably their worst album but it has its moments. Woke up with “Girderland” in my head earlier this week for some reason.
At first I read this as a Jamaican dub of VOTOMS and got hyped.
Parallax scrolling was/is a term to describe this in video games, not sure if it’s the same for animation.
I’ve become one of Those People who seek out target CDs, though usually on the cheap.
Discipline and punish them rude boys.
I’ve been obsessed with Capcom’s Black Tiger since the mid/late 1980s. Not sure how obscure it actually is though.
The ones with the adhesive on the flap…enraging.
I have a shamefully large retro video game collection, and like 20 years ago I had the chance to buy a CD-I for $100 and I passed for that very reason. At least the 3D0 had the so-bad-it’s-fun Way of the Warrior.
“Discovered” Fugazi a couple years ago. I’d put the Argument first, Kill Taker second, and End Hits a really close third. It’s so great.
I spent an inordinate amount of time in a first year seminar course last year demonstrating how to download, edit, and then upload an Excel file to our CMS.
No love for Herbie Hancock in the “Rockit” video?
It’s #CDFriday, aka the only time I post.
Just tossing Deleuze & Guattari at randos
Hearing material from Red Mecca makes me REALLY hope they are planning to record and release these shows.
Misfits Earth AD/Wolfs Blood CD artwork.
Original gold disc first edition for #CDFriday. Because nothing says early digital audiophile sound quality like the Misfits. (s/o to @belltowerrex.bsky.social for the hookup)
No argument (haha) here
That’s what I’ve been telling my kids on syllabus day: on a calculator 7+7 is always going to be 14. Corporate and political influence isn’t going to change that. AI on the other hand…
(Original B side to “Arclite”, not the Peel Session)
Song wise that’s how I’ve always felt about Loop’s “Sunburst”.
Yep, same guy!
Big fan of Sharkey’s Puerto Rico Flowers post-Clockcleaner project.
This topic has come up in a few of my classes and the kids are baffled by it.
The Bruford/Cross/Fripp/Wetton years (Larks, Starless, Red, USA). Then start at the beginning. You may want to sit the 80s out though.
Classics. Irks me that my US pressing of Motion Pool is in a jewel case though.
