A panel of immunohistochemistry images showing infection of a panel of IAV viruses (as 6:2 reassortants on a PR8 backbone) in epithelia from the teat and gland cisterns of Aberdeen Angus, Limousin and Holstein Friesian cattle
🚨New pre-print!🚨
Using a panel of different H5N1 clade 2.3.4.4b viruses and human seasonal influenza, and mammary explants from common beef and dairy cattle breeds, we add to the growing data showing that H5N1 spillovers into cattle should be seen as an ongoing risk

I was just joking about how I missed out on a lot of great things and opportunities yesterday… this just tops it off, but glad it’s now a thing in the UK again

I start to realise how perfect music is as a medium for memories, now it pains me that I could no longer listen to a lot on my playlists when I think or write... since most of them just reminds me of a series of past events...
Slowly developing a love for jazz, anything else that would help?

The cinematography of Sinners was absolutely incredible, also the reason I’d say it’s my film of year. I’m glad she won and she absolutely deserves this win.
Very nice review but I have to complain about the plain text summary, it’s plain text indeed, but somehow reads very tiresome, my brain just hurts reading it
While expansion is comparable, activation and differentiation of T cells diverges between CD3/CD28 beads versus soluble antibody complexes

Impressive… My hands often shake badly whenever I try to take pictures from the eyepiece, usually had to take several pics in a row just to get one good picture with perfect angle…

A data figure showing a phylogenetic tree of H3N2 with 2025-K highlighted, the structure of the HA trimer with mutations characteristic of K highlighted, and box and whisker plots showing % neutralisation of the 2022 H3N2 vaccine strain, and of 2025 clade K, by various human antisera
🚨New Pre-Print🚨
Although H3N2 subclade K has multiple mutations in HA, neutralisation assays with pre-epidemic human sera show only moderate antigenic drift, and vaccines used in the 2024/2025 flu season induced cross-neutralising immunity

'The presence of CD8+ T cells coexpressing residency and exhaustion molecules in chronic diseases often correlate with clinical outcomes; however, the relationship between these cells and conventional tissue-resident memory (TRM) cells or exhausted CD8+ T (TEX) cells is unclear.'
