This is a scaled and simplified model of the 2017 Karrat landslide.

I think it captures the dynamics of the tsunami generation quite well, though it is of course, very simplified.

Elevated water table triggering an idealised 3D-printed rotational landslide. Complete with a Monopoly house on top.

A paper, presenting six different 3D-printable landslide models, has now been submitted for review. Once it is published, they will all be made freely available.

Look what arrived: Just bought two original hand-painted prints from Møns and Stevns Cliffs, Denmark, from 1851. These are photorealistic, made in collaboration by some of the best artists and scientists of the era.

3D-print demonstrating a rotational landslide at it simplest. Amazing how much you can actually communicate with such a simple model: Rotation, self-stabilization etc.

Working towards making more complex models and share the blueprints so they can be used in outreach.

The Semper Crevasses project is keeping us busy on the ice sheet this week! Here's the view into one of Greenland's newest crevasses, which has opened in recent months at 2000 m elevation above sea-level about 100 km inland from Ilulissat Glacier front.
