I love this idea! Is that a screw top? Or was that just pinched in the fixture with screws?

My sister asked me, "Why would you make a ceramic vase that ends up looking like a real rock?" And my response was, "Do you have any idea how hard it is to make something look like real #stone?" This had so many different textures, glazes, oxide washes, cutting, carving.

Love that wee little gnome! β€οΈ
My first time trying out the Frozen Pond glazing technique. Decided to use purple as the base instead of the traditional black. This technique was created by Kathy McGuire of Fresno, CA, USS
Mushroom growing from the concrete
Resist the temptation to find inspiration from social media platforms, or the web in general. Everything you need can be found nearby. This was a mushroom I found growing from the concrete on my neighborhood street.

Super cool, love the texture.
This is so gorgeous and powerful. I love it.
I never said I was inspired by Picasso, nor was I trying to mimic his work. There are other cubist artists and I was inspired by a large variety of art pieces. My intention was to create an abstract and colorful take on a classic jack-o-lantern face that would involve painting and carving.
I used a rainbow LED light with rotating colors. There were cutouts in the design so that the light could pop thru. You can see in this pic where the dark blue sections were the cutout windows.

Pumpcasso! I was inspired by Cubism art for this year's pumpkin carving. Was going for abstract faces.

Ceramic mug of black and blue colors.
This was the mug I made for the 2025 Blindfold Pottery Challenge. Currently up for auction for the Fun Eye Fund to raise awareness for those who are visually disabled. All proceeds will go to help people in need of prosthetic eyes. Auction is live!

Ceramic vase
Tried out a new pulling technique in my pottery wheel. Used both hands outside the pot to pull the clay up. It works! Black porcelain with a matcha matte shino glaze.

That's beautiful
I love those special single drips.
Ceramic vase on a wood table in front of a black background.
Disease. Illness. Attacks on the body at the microspoic level. Recent hospital trauma has left its mark on my psyche. In this piece, I tried to capture that moment of infection. The texture was made with real teeth. Imagine being devoured.

My favorite bookshop. They have the best selection of indie scifi books with staff reviews.
Ceramic vase with texture
Decided to try out carving a ceramic piece straight from a fresh block of clay. No wheelthrowing, no handbuilding, no coiling. Just carving. It was exhilarating.

Mixed media sculpture of a painted skull with a flower growing out from the crown
My Dia de los Muertos sculpture. Mixed media. The skull is made from wild ceramic clay harvested from my backyard fired to Cone 06. Painted designs made with acryllics. The flower is poly clay. The stem and leaves are copper wire.
