My β€˜quick’ runs are generally Parkruns, but of course - I do factor in sprint intervals into my training.. which are always so much fun πŸ˜‚

It’s Saturday, and that means it’s parkrun day ☺️

Another new one for me today at East Park - Wolverhampton πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§
A 3 lap course around a pleasant park and the glorious sunshine 🌳

Parkrun is simply the best way to start a Saturday πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Running slower makes you faster!

Keep most of your runs at a conversational pace. It feels almost too easy… but that's the point.

You're building the aerobic base that unlocks real speed later.

If you're breathing too hard & can’t talk, slow down.

Started the day with parkrun at Haughmond Hill in Shropshire, just outside Shrewsbury πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

It’s a lovely trail route through woodland with some stunning views, but definitely a hilly one!

No matter the challenge, parkrun is always the perfect way to kick off the weekend πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

It was a beautiful spring morning today, the kind that instantly lifts your mood as soon as you step outside. Days like this don’t just make training easier… they bring clarity, purpose, and real focus to every mile. A reminder of exactly why you keep showing up πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

March has been a great month of running. It started with Nantwich 10km, then I had a break in Lanzarote πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ with stunning volcanic trails & many hills.

Returned home, finishing 10th at a local parkrun and rounding up the month with Wolverhampton 10km.

A total of 115miles (185km) πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

Most of your runs should be slow and steady, but add some speed work now and then.

Today was interval day πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

Pick a slight hill and 2 posts and sprint between them, walk back to the start to recover then go again.

Do this between 6 and 10 times.
*Don’t forget to warm up first.

Visited a new parkrun this morning at Perton Playing Fields, Wolverhampton (a fresh one and only its 16th event). This is mostly a trail course with grassy off-road sections and not to much elevation.

Strong run too today, finishing 10th overall πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ I’ll take that!

Trail running is a fantastic way to build strong, resilient legs.

The uneven terrain forces your glutes, quads, calves, and stabilising muscles to work harder than flat roads to keep you balanced & moving forward.

The result? functional strength built naturally on the trails πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

Back from a little R&R in Lanzarote πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ for a running getaway πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

I discovered some fantastic trail routes, several which were quite technical around Timanfaya National Park πŸŒ‹ but every mile was hugely enjoyable.

And of course, I couldn’t ignore Lanzarote’s unique wine culture 🍷

πŸ˜€ We did a 10km 2 days ago in the central valley that was 1400ft total - I needed a rest day yesterday as my legs were ruined πŸ˜‚

Running 10 miles around four volcanoes in Timanfaya National Park: Lanzarote πŸŒ‹πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

What else would you rather be doing on a Saturday morning?

This was a superb trail run - raw volcanic landscapes, endless views, and legs definitely feeling it now!

Today was Nantwich 10km πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

This is a lovely race to do as it’s pretty flat and was also my first race of 2026.
Went out with a sub-50 in mind so I’m pretty happy with an official 48.17 today, which is a reasonable benchmark for the year ahead.

Happy running everyone!

It’s easy to fall into the habit of running the same routes every day.

So, shake things up!

Explore new streets, chase a few more hills, and bring the excitement back to your miles.
Make running an adventure, not just a routine. πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈβœ¨

My β€˜goto’ socks are Hilly - like you say… especially for anything HM upwards .. but these are proving pretty reliable for my daily runs πŸ‘Œ

I’ve found a few brands which work really well - and they do β€˜colour’ so… why not be cheery indeed πŸ‘Œ

Life’s too short for boring runs, so let’s get out there as bright, cheerful runners and stand out while we’re at it! πŸ‘βœ¨

As soon as the sun breaks through and there’s just a hint of warmth… and that first sense of spring, running feels incredible and becomes the perfect way to start the day πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

Some days, it feels good to just get outside and simply run πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

No plan, no pace to hit, no distance to chase, but just running for the pure joy of it πŸ‘Œ

It doesn’t matter how fast or slow you are…

What matters is that you get outside and keep moving πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈβœ¨

If you are looking to shake up your interval runs, find those Strava segments with the weird names & use those for your speed and sprint work πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

You can always revisit them again to see if you have improved!

I pick the ones that are between around 50 seconds > 2.30mins πŸ‘
