When politicians are passing laws to that benefit billionaires & businesses rather than holding them accountable for pollution, corruption, etc. When the consequences for violations of privacy, rights, and even the ending of lives are fines that are less than the profits made from those violations.
When medical services that life saving are denied in order to improve profit margins, that is a confession. When corporations are using every single opportunity to squeeze every since penny out of every single customer.
When people are treated as a resource (human resources) that are kept or disposed of depending on whether they are adding enough value or not, that is a confession.
What a society protects is what a society values.
Right now it appears that what is being protected is profits & pedophiles. Don't look to words spoken. Look to actions taken.
When the concerns over children being trafficked are responded to by pointing out the DOW is over 50,000, it's a confession.

By understanding this, we can respond with empathy instead of correction.
Always try to consider the full context. Low stress (& low cortisol) creates space for learning & growth. When we ignore biology, we miss the chance to truly help. Let’s do better by looking deeper.
These all affect cortisol and stress levels. A learner might seem "difficult" or "noncompliant," but they could actually be in a stress response. Their body is in survival mode. They could also "appear" calm or receptive on the surface, but engaging in masking just to make it through.
For a neurodivergent* person, sensory overload or communication difficulties can spike cortisol quickly. If we do not account for this, we are not supporting the person; we are coercing.
Phylogeny (biological history), medical issues, and fatigue are all critical.
This makes learning, communication, & emotional regulation much harder.
This meme points out a common mistake. We sometimes focus only on behavior in the moment resulting in us miss the bigger picture. If we ignore a person's biology (like medical needs or fatigue), we miss the root of the problem.
When we work with neurodivergent* learners, we must look at the whole person. Stress is not just in the mind; it is in the body. One key player is cortisol (often called the stress hormone). When cortisol levels stay high, the body stays in a state of alert.
So where are those "patriots" who claimed that they were for liberty? Where are those "brave" Son of Liberty now that the tyrant has revealed himself. Where are they when it has become clearer and clearer who the enemy to liberty and justice for all is?
I was raised by the people and community who screamed tyranny under Obama & Biden. I, at one point, even agreed with them and voiced similar views. Yet I have seen something quite interesting. Those same people are VERY selective as to who is worthy of being able to define tyranny.
