Two diagonal branches cross each other. On the near one, rising, a yellow bird with white blotches faces us, looking to our right. On the far branch, descending, are two more of the same type of bird. The one on the left has its body facing away, but head turned to our right. It has black and white wing bars. The one on the right looks very similar to the first bird, but lacks the white blotches. The vegetation around is green and springlike.

An old building in Jerome Arizona in the middle of land with hills in the background. This are is a big tourist area that includes ghost tours. The town was a mining hub from the later 1880's to 1950's.

Against a canvas of soft, cloud-brushed blue sky, a graceful branch droops under the gentle weight of its own extravagance. The double-petalled blossoms of a Kanzan cherry burst open in a riot of deep rose-pink and the palest blush, a gradient moving from vivid magenta at the petal edges to an almost luminous white at the heart. Each flower is a world unto itself: layer upon layer of ruffled, tissue-thin petals folded over one another with the lush fullness of an old-fashioned garden rose, their frilled edges catching the light and glowing softly. Young bronze-green leaves, just emerging from their buds, add a warm earthy counterpoint, like copper foil set against silk, grounding all that pink exuberance in something real and alive. The mood is one of pure, uncomplicated delight: a fleeting, generous gift of color and form that exists only for a handful of days each spring.

A bee flying right near the purple flowers of a Mexican sage bush. The long, thin bundle of fuzzy flowers goes from the bottom right corner, curves up to the top, then dips back down. The background is blurred green leaves with a little bit of purple flowers.

The only bee shot I got that was not massively blurred the other day, and that includes perfectly still bees. I don't have a macro lens.

A large brown eagle with a white head and yellow hooked beak perches up high in a tall pine tree. S/he faces the camera but is looking off to the left giving a good facial profile. We can see a hint of her yellow talons wrapped around the tree branch. Also, a random bare branch sticks up over her chest to ruin an otherwise fairly clean shot.

I was finally able to get a shot of a bald eagle last week in Brooklyn! It only took me years…. And still #Sticks 😬
