Went back to #LMGP for the gull roost. The Black-necked Grebe still showing and in better light than this morning. A winter adult Med Gull appeared as the light was fading, plus a distant 2cy Little Gull - too far off to photo, but still present at dusk #UKBirding

Pleased to find a Black-necked Grebe this morning on my #LMGP patch. Only my 3rd record here and the first since 2017 #UKBirding
I haven't seen a Ring-necked Duck in a while so went to see the smart drake at Moor Green Lakes, Berks #RareBirdsUK #UKBirding
A wintering pair of Stonechats continue at Emmett's fields. Seem to be more of these great little birds about on local farmland this Winter, following a strong passage last Autumn.
This regular returning hybrid Tufted Duck x Pochard at #LMGP is getting reported as a Scaup, so one to be aware of #UKBirding
Water Pipit on Staines Moor yesterday #UKBirding
Staines Res yesterday - apart from the distant Lesser Scaup, a pair of Scaup, GN Diver, 9 BN Grebes and a Black Redstart showed much better #UKBirding
Lesser Scaup distant on Staines Res yesterday - south side of south bank #RareBirdsUK
Pleased to catch up with the Ripley Killdeer yesterday, fantastic record and fairly local. Also a bonus Little Gull #UKBirding #RareBirdsUK
Please to see the hybrid Goldfinch back in my garden on Sunday. I think probably crossed with Linnet. I first saw it in Dec 2020, so this is its 6th winter. I only see it in winter and always with Goldfinches. Here feeding on Lemon Balm seeds #UKBirding
An adult Dark-bellied Brent Goose was pick of the day at my #LMGP patch -look at that neck patch. Found late am, I watched it early pm when it never seemed settled - always on the water, sometimes calling. It flew off high north at 13:45. Probably not far, as it was back late pm #UKBirding
@marlowbirder.bsky.social picked out a Caspian this evening at LMGP that we suspect is a return bird from 2023. A noticeably closed right eye and long bill seem to match. @bucksbirdclub81.bsky.social
Always nice to find a #LMGP patch Med Gull. This 2w bird resting on the ice with a small group of gulls this morning #UKBirding
I was visiting family c15 mins away from the Holbury Great-tailed Grackle so went to see it just before it went to roost. Nice to hear it scolding a passing cat #UKBirding
This hybrid Tufted Duck x Pochard is back at #LMGP for its 7th winter. Not always on Spade Oak lake, but has been there several times in December #UKBirding
Arrived at #LMGP this morning just as news broke of 4 Red-crested Pochards having been found. First of the year here and #136 for my patch year list. Still hoping to add to that with the current influx of near continental geese and swans #UKBirding
I went on the 27th. It was a 3 tick day in my early birding days, with RC Starling and Iceland Gull!
There should be plenty to look at. Hope you enjoy it.
An excellent record of a pair of Whooper Swans feeding at #LMGP yesterday afternoon - found by @grahamwfc.bsky.social Only the 3rd record here that I can think of, but two years running now. #UKBirding
Sightings of single GW Egret have increased over recent weeks at #LMGP but there are definitely at least 2 about. Lovely to get these large egrets more regularly now. Still less common in the south compared to north Bucks #UKBirding
Watched an adult dark bellied Brent Goose fly in to #LMGP from the north at 8:30am this morning. Part of a wide movement over the SE this morning. A great bird for the patch - initial shot as it landed on the water, but found its way to the spit to feed #UKBirding
I was traveling south from Yorkshire yesterday, so took pit stops at the Eyebrook American Golden Plover and Ditchford Lesser Scaup #RareBirdsUk #UKBirding
This one, tiny, came in with me from the garden last week. Araneus sp?
Thanks Esmond. At least yours has both its front legs! What distinguishes maculipes from angulatus?
This distinctive looking spider (small!) is sharing my study today. Obsi says Episinus sp @baltibillbucks.bsky.social @chalkspring.bsky.social ?
Fairly typical view of Water Rail at #LMGP this morning. Also a record shot of yesterday's first for year Oystercatcher #ukbirding
Spring migrants are beginning to push through at #LMGP despite the cold. A noticeable increase in Chiffchaffs from the 6th; yesterday a surprise 2cy Little Gull in the roost plus a Blackcap in subsong new for year; this morning a brief Little Ringed Plover before 7am #ukbirding
First chance to see the Brent Goose on Dorney Common. Slightly odd as it was completely on its own away from other geese, feeding fine, but fairly approachable, waddling away rather than flying. Wishing it well. #ukbirding
The sun actually shone for the Bucks Bird Club trip to #LMGP on Sunday. The melanistic Lapwing looking particularly resplendent. #ukbirding
