What youโre referring to are coined Paused Pull Ups. Which are a great exercise to develop power and strength as they eliminate the stretch reflex. However, they are not the only correct pull up. Happy to have in-depth convos with someone who actually has physiology and biomechanics education
Hi there. You can do pull ups however you like. And this reply is less for you and more for anyone else who sees it may wonder. As this is simply incorrect. A full pull is when the elbow reaches extension (as done), and the scapula reaches mild elevation, then depresses again to start the next rep.
The power is building. Getting so close to being high enough for a muscle up transition!
