If RTE dont get some ST references in there between the two it's a huge missed opportunity. I'd watch just for that.

Likely the first time Meaney will ever be on screen with Mulgrew, though? Miles O'Brien served everywhere except for Voyager, unless I'm mistaken. While Voyager and DS9 ran alongside each other for a while, they were set in different quadrants so never crossed #StarTrek #Treksky #DS9

The 3 nominated spokespeople from the Dublin protests - whom were some of the key organisers of the overall protest - are all far-right agitators. All you have to do is look at their Facebook pages to see this. They motivated others to join their cause.

Ok, maybe so, but what happens then? It would just feel like a victory for the protesters, most of whom are far-right, as well as the proper far-right loons who have jumped on the bandwagon, and give them more encouragement to keep going with more crazy stuff.

Just when you think you can't love AOC any more... 🚲🚲🚲

(Also, American bike lanes are really crap)

I don't get how Labour, the Greens, SocDems etc are voting no confidence. I'm mean I get what they hope to achieve, and I'm no fan of this current Gov, but is this the best way to go about it? It just doesnt sit right.

As road deaths rise, the true scale of injuries remains unclear Ireland's road safety record is continuing to move in the wrong direction and is increasingly out of step with the rest of the EU. But while fatalities continue to rise, so to do serious injuries

Another great piece of journalism from @rte.ie Jack Carron.

Nazi salutes on the streets of Ireland... As others have said, if you allow fascists – or Nazi's doing Nazi salutes – in your protest, then it's a fascist protest.

now the tractors have moved on, I'm starting to see people who probably like to think of themselves as left/progressive trying to find a way to excuse what happened, to position the protestors as victims, misunderstood or mislead at worst. Fuck that, it was a display of violent entitlement.

"The proposal was soon picked up by prominent figures within Ireland’s far-right and anti-immigrant movement, including Conor McGregor and Derek Blighe, as well as international figures like conspiracy theorist Liz Churchill and Russell Brand."

Good to see nothing came of this so far.

"Duffy has built a following on social media by leaning heavily into far-right narratives.

His Facebook page shows he has shared images claiming Ursula von der Leyen believes free speech is a “virus” and that censorship is a “vaccine”; & said that Muslims “want to take over the world”

What a guy.

"nobody has a right to blockade our country"… "illegal blockades”… “caused harm”…

…And yet… here, have a €500m package, a delay of carbon taxes, major concessions…

How in the name of jasis does that make sense.

On the Muslim Sisters of Éire Facebook page. Totally normal protester behaviour. Definitely great to support people like this

4 days ago 93 40 4 3

Notable as the Muslims Sisters went out of their way to be non-threatening to the protesters beforehand.

It really does only take a handful of people to cause huge problems, but as long as the protesters tolerate that handful, that is entirely their fault and they shoulder responsibility.

The irony of using the orange gobshite who's responsible for all this on the poster. Also - I really, really hate the look of AI generated "art". Real sense of uncanny valley off it.

This is not a good precedent. Remember, folks, next time you want something from government for your special interest group, ignore your representative body, set up a blockade on roads, and shut down access to ports until they cut you a special deal.

Next time we protest for the climate, or Palestine, or whatever new grievance we have with the government, everybody bring their cars. Apparently, our government submits to vehicles, not people.

Racists brining the country to a standstill this week (under guise of fuel crisis) tried to intimidate one of the great charities in the country last night.

MSOÉ have been feeding the unhoused for 11 years on O Connell street.

Ugly scenes but beautiful show of solidarity from the people they feed.

They attacked the Muslim Sisters of Éire, one of the kindest and mostly welcoming groups out on the streets of Dublin providing meals to the unhoused.

Fuck every single one of these rat fucks.

The Left cannot insert itself into protests that are this comfortable with racists and transphobes and expect to suck the poison out from the inside. I love rebellion but only built on a charter of anti-bigotry. Nothing worthwhile will grow from poisoned seeds

The self-appointed "leaders" of the Fuel Protests are truly scum of the Earth.
Why our media choose to interview the likes of Duffy here re the protests is beyond me. Do they really think he cares one iota about anyone but his own self?
