⚡Meet the Team, pt. 6⚡

How do symptoms of affective disorders change over time – and what drives this change?
Within SFB/TRR 393, our 24 projects investigate the cognitive, emotional, and neurobiological mechanisms behind symptom dynamics.

The NAE study is our longest-running project — & one of a kind.🧠💡
Since 2009, we've followed patients with MDD & BD for up to 14 years.
We combine repeated MRI scans & deep phenotyping.
This rare longitudinal design lets us explore how brain changes might (not) cause affective disorders over time.

🎯 Based on the knowledge gained, we aim to develop targeted, innovative and optimized psychotherapeutic interventions. We are also investigating predictors of response to interventions in order to pave the way for personalized intervention selection.
