Photograph of Wavellite specimen on unknown rock
Focus-stacked macro photograph of olive-green wavellite crystals, forming radial growths reminiscent of volcanoes
Focus-stacked macro photograph of olive-green wavellite crystals, forming an impressive 360-degrees radial cluster like a halo
Re-shot of my #Wavellite! I looked at my previous photos and the difference in quality is gigantic. Felt this green boyo deserved more attention~
Common kestrel / PustuΕka (Falco tinnunculus)

Focus-stacked macro photograph of Bismuth crystal, showing characteristic hopper pattern and rainbow hues
Yesterday I finally took a shot at photographing my #Bismuth - surprisingly difficult due to how reflective it is. Shame these almost never look like this in nature. Still gorgeous to behold though β¨
Photograph of a mineral specimen consisting of grey and brown hued rock base and spherulitic malachite crystals on top.
Focus-stacked macro photograph of spherulitic malachite crystals - clusters of radially growing spikes forming spheres. Beautiful cross-sections can be seen on some of the spheres which are fractured.
Redo of my spherulitic #Malachite now that I have an actual tripod. Got it from bf a while ago cause the colors reminded him of Yako π
(If anyone calls it 'mold' again they're getting rudder-smacked in the jewels π€)

Weekend haul 4/4:
#Gypsum with #Halite ! π€
My favorite rocks are those that look like miniature alien worlds up close. This is one of them - I love the variety of sizes, shapes and colors at play here, esp. the second image <3
The green tint on this gypsum comes from abundant copper at the site!

#Prehnite ! π’
As one of the more common green minerals it deserved a spot in my collection. This particular specimen enticed me with a cavernous form and a lovely color gradient - from lemon green to pale mint. The main mineral is neatly framed by white calcite and quartz.

A thick bubbly layer of #Chrysocolla ! π΅
I like how you only really start to see its translucency when you get up close and personal with a macro lens - otherwise it appears fully opaque.
Photo of Amethyst specimen, with several crystals growing radially out of a cluster. A label on the base says "Amethyst, Vera Cruz, Mexico" in Polish
Macro focus-stacked photograph of amethyst specimen. Big, pink, translucent amethyst crystals covered in smaller white crystals grow out of a beige rock base.
Macro focus-stacked photograph of amethyst specimen. Close-up of a big pink amethyst crystal littered with tiny white quartz crystals resembling seafoam. One face of the big crystal is finely highlighted by refection.
Macro focus-stacked photograph of amethyst specimen. Dark dendrite formations are visible inside one of the crystals, multiplied by reflections. Another such formation is visible on another crystal's opaque beige base.
Weekend haul 1/4:
This lovely cluster of #Amethyst ! π£
While taking the photos I was stoked to discover dendrites in some of the major crystals (check last pic!). These tree-like structures resembling fossils are formed when natural fissures meet manganese or iron-rich waters.

Eurasian bullfinch / Gil (Pyrrhula pyrrhula) π¦βοΈ
Taken on 10/03/2026
This one is a male which you can tell thanks to the very reddish feathers as compared to more greyish ones seen in females. I adore bulfinches' thick beaks.

European green woodpecker / DziΔcioΕ zielony (Picus viridis)

At first they were sitting on sepearate trees making very cute laughing sounds to each other. After a whie they runited on the one tree chilling closely on the same branch.

Very loud squirrel I met this morning βοΈβ«πΏοΈ
It proceeded to lick the sap of the branch which apparently acts as a sweet energy boost for them π

First butterfly this year π¦π‘
Fun fact: it's one of the longest living butterflies (up to a year)! Larva becomes an adult imago in July and semi-hibernates through the rest of the year and wakes up in the spring to mate.
