Aye, SNP 1, SGP 2. I know it's hard for you John, but try being honest with the voters.

Genuine question Peter. Is there not a risk during a power outage of feeding 240V back down the line to where linesmen might be working, thinking the line should be dead?
Dear people of the UK, when you go to vote on May 7th, just before you write the X in the box, count to 10 & think about what's happening in America. A quick recap below:
Sadly there will be those who will vote for this unwittingly down South,
But the Scottish should almost certainly reject this.

I understand why the SNP do not call on people to give their second vote to other independence supporting parties – they are afraid. Afraid that the idea of not always voting for them when afforded the chance to do so might set a precedent. Labour have the same fear. Once you infer that it is on occasion ok to vote for someone else, they figure, it is the thin end of the wedge – people get used to the idea. Yet the SNP’s case for “both votes” on May 7 is a poor one and they know it. They know, as indeed we all do, that if, as the polls repeatedly suggest, they win most of the first-past-the-post constituencies, the 500,000 or so votes they accrue on the regional lists simply go in the bin, as it were. That can’t do the independence movement any good. Worse, it helps elect Unionist MSP’s – most likely Reform UK ones as things stand. - Colin Fox, SSP.
This ongoing call for #BothVotesSNP by the #SNP is purely to deny the Scottish Greens seats. It is party political & not pro-indy.
It gives us more Unionist MSPs!
SCREW THAT. We want as many pro-indy MSPs as possible.
#SNP1SGP2 or #SNP1Greens2
NOT #BothVotesSNP
Vote SNP 1 Scottish Greens 2 - updated swing calculation:
Points of interest:
a) if 12% of SNP 2 votes went to the Scottish Greens, then the SGs become the official opposition
b) a 38% swing of SNP 2 votes to SGs makes a combined indy support of 66.7% - a 2/3rds super majority
It won’t improve the SNP’s chances of winning list seats.
Once constituency wins are factored in, the SNP’s proportional allocation is close to zero.
Most, if not all of the 56 list seats go to unionists or the Greens. A 2nd vote for the Greens helps limit how many of those seats go to unionists.
120 Tories have defected to Reform since its founding, including 27 MPs
Vote SNP 1 Scottish Greens 2 to maximise the number of Indy supporting MSPs. Every extra Scottish Green on the list is one fewer unionist MSP and ensures that Reform do not become the opposition in Holyrood.
But what I also struggle with is some ppl's mistaken belief that ONLY an SNP majority will swing it
By using the D'Hondt system and voting S Greens 2 it will achieve a greater majority of not just Indy minded MSPs but also more progressive ones as well
For me it's a win- win

Ballot Box Scotland showing their polling for Scot Parly 2026 & the SNP getting zero list seats, with one bar chart showing the projected list seat breakdown by region, but the most in every region through the FPTP vote, in a second bar chart which is all seats by region.
You're polling for zero list seats.
You get more pro-indy MSPs by voting as follows:
#SNP1SGP2 or #SNP1Greens2
NOT #BothVotesSNP
All regions.
FPTP Proviso:
If the Scot Greens are polling to win, vote SGP1.
Scotland can’t afford not to return an SNP government on 7 May so your 1st vote is crucial.
Everyone - please give your 1st vote to SNP.
But giving your 2nd vote to the SNP is reckless:
If it doesn’t go to the Greens, it flows to the other 4 - unionists.
The odds of an SNP majority?
Over 99/1
Spreadsheet projection for Highlands & Islands list seats "The red boxed numbers indicate the highest quotient in each round and therefore indicates the party that gets the seat allocation in that round. The first list seat is then allocated to that party (Reform), their divisor is increased by 1, then the calculation is repeated, thereby taking into account list seat allocations as it goes, until the seven available list seats are allocated. We are therefore showing the workings of how the list seats are allocated, based on the projected polling and turnout. Allocations: Reform UK 3, Tories 2, Labour 1, Scottish Greens 1. As per above, this outcome matched Ballot Box Scotland’s projection (below) Screenshot of colour coded image showing Highlands & Islands list seat projection; Cons 2, Lab 1, SGP 1, RefUK 3.
"We then redid this projection but with a ‘what if’ scenario; where half the SNP list vote voted SGP instead." Spreadsheet based on previous spreadsheet, revised as indicated "The SGP would claim three list seats, instead of one, keeping out two more unionists, one Reform and one Tory. Put another way, 58,108 SGP list votes would get three list MSPs, when 66,898 SNP list votes would get (bold text) nothing."
If you're thinking, “The SNP might get a list seat here, so I should vote SNP on the list“... STOP!
You should be thinking, “How many would the SGP get instead?“ #TwoPartyStrategy
You get more pro-indy MSPs EVERYWHERE voting #SNP1SGP2 NOT #BothVotesSNP.
Whether polling drops or rises.
QED👇
If you want an Independence majority in May this is 110% essential reading.
It explains simply how the HR system works and why it MUST be SNP 1/SGreens 2. Giving both votes SNP might look like a sign of loyalty to one party but it devalues the 2nd vote and risks letting non-Indy parties in.
An #SNP1SGP2 vote in May could be a triple whammy. It has the potential to . . .
1) Maximise pro-Indy seats
2) Reduce Unionist MSPs
3) Prevent Reform winning enough seats to be the official opposition.
We've got just 8 weeks to get that information out to voters. #Scotland #Holyrood26
The Giving your 2nd vote to the SNP gifts seats to the Westminster controlled parties.
That’s a simple fact.

Farage: epic grifter
Sadly, it was done the day Alex Salmond passed.
This is the tip of the iceberg. Just wait until the Freeports and SEZ's which the Scottish Government signed up for start to do the same.
I know exactly which road they'll pick. It'll be the same old vote SNP 1 and 2 pish. Mr Swinney has no interest in independence, he never has. He's made a good living towing the devolutionist line.
We can only hope it bites him in the baws.
I'd just give all the players their own ball. It would save all that running about chasing after one ball.
You beat me to it! One of the most outstanding quotes in the history of broadcasting!
Surely to dethaw is to freeze?
No chance. They're like all those arseholes I worked with who refused to join the Union, still took the pay rises though.
The question they should be asking him is "why didn't you wear a condom?".
Crikey, I remember this well. I was lucky, there were only two of us to fight over it. Mind you, we still had to get before we went to bed to sweep the M1 with a toothbrush (old Monty Python reference there!).
What, even a goldfish?
I'm with you on this. I recently had to use an old cable from the hoard in my garage. Only took me about three hours to find it.
Exactly this. Did the British Government flatten Northern Ireland to destroy the IRA? But our successive governments now seem to think it's okay to do it in Gaza.
