Wigeons are vocal ducks often seen in large flocks over winter. They gather on estuaries, stretches of coastline and in other wetland habitats. Listen out for their squealing call, which can be heard repeatedly when a flock is nearby.

It may still be winter but we think seabirds deserve our appreciation all year!
In just a couple of months, species such as Puffins, Gannets, Common Terns and Fulmars will make their way back to the UK's coastal habitats to raise the next generation of seabirds.
