A change of scenery and role for me for the next week.
Volunteering as Front of House manager at the AquaticsGB NextGen Championships
Love the limited edition patches for the all important volunteers who make the meets happen- Small gestures of recognition like this have a big impact.

From @rsc.org @rsc-eic.bsky.social CPD and microscale chemistry are making practicals more possible and teachers more confident. Teacher trainer Robert Campbell explains how, then one of his PGCE students shares their first-hand experience of using microscale

Coincidentally I found this video the other day to show a Gen Z teacher what we used to show students for this very reason.
I think I might have shocked her (no pun intended)
Celebrating British Science Week! This year’s theme is ‘Change and Adapt’, and we asked our members:
"Have you made a positive change or adaptation to your teaching practice over the past year?" Here's what they said 🔗 ow.ly/Jhul50Vfucp

Sitting down after work with a cuppa and the Autumn @cleapss.bsky.social bulletin which landed in my pigeon hole today.
Fabulous to see 2 school science techs showcasing our work to a wider audience. Projects like this really help people to understand the crucial role we play in the science education of children.

Most of the pracs I put out as a tech go in student trays with everything each pair will need in the tray. 2 techs;11 labs; 17m2 prep room; >50% lessons have practicals. Classroom management easier; good for SEND. I presented around this & microscale at the ICCE24 conference in Thailand in July.
Excellent question. We do many microscale pracs. Sometime include a “traditional” as a demo alongside. We have also scaled down to miniscale eg use of 10ml conical flasks.
Teacher - Technician collaboration is key to implementing
