share.google/GOSvWZjUEtzs... After a bit of ‘tutting’ at the start of this, I confess to being utterly charmed by the end. Loved Ella Bruccoleri’s performance and, thanks to Ruth Jones, we see Mrs Bennet as more of a coercive, toxic mother than the usual frivolous, harmless caricature.

Very sad to hear about the death of Prof. Simon James - an excellent scholar and a kind human being. My thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues.
Interesting ideas here, and astute about current problems in UKHE.
Important reflections for our times, please do read and share ⬇️⬇️

same background: a typewriter and a mug in front of a mock crime board text: Whether stemming from interest in violence and stories or the need to understand criminal behaviour, narrating true crime has become an industry in and of itself. We would like to create a platform to discuss various ways of historicising, contextualising, and rewriting true crime across the media and further understanding regarding the ways in which true crime narratives are deployed.

Having now seen #Nosferatu, I’m sorry to say that I was disappointed. I’ve loved Eggers’ work to date, and the cinematography here was equally impressive, but it’s a one-note movie - everything is overwrought, including Orlok’s distracting accent!
@danielledove.bsky.social One for you, I think! 😂
Thanks to @rosarioariasuma.bsky.social and all on the Assemblage project for a great two days of fascinating papers and productive discussion!
Wonderful afternoon at the @beinghumanfest.bsky.social events at Leith Hill Place in Surrey. Glorious autumn colour coupled with amazing poetry and music.
