Small white mushroom growing amongst green moss.

Tiny little mushroom growing in the moss. Love how the tiniest ones are often translucent.

Tall spindly mushrooms growing in pine duff with white fungal threads growing on the cap.

I saw these along the trail and was intrigued. They are parasitized and look like fuzzy little hats.

I think those are more frequently called a strap-on in the vernacular.

I've been travelling a bunch (to cold places with no mushrooms) but did my first mushroom hike on Mt Tam in a while. Lots of rain but not a ton of mushrooms. I did like this little one though.

an overhead view of part of the cap of a mushroom that is past it's prime and which looks like a weathered sandstone landscape.

Some sort of Polypore growing in redwood duff. I love how the top looks like a landscape of the American southwest.

Yes. Even when it seems like there are not many out there are usually small ones under logs or other places that are wet enough.

Slim pickings on the mushroom front here but I did find this nice little Mycena on a redwood stump in Roy's Redwood preserve.

Arcyria sp. (maybe Arcyria denudata). These are pretty easy to spot since they are so bright when fresh.

Lamproderma scintillans

Finally got a chance to break in the new camera in the field with a bunch of pros: Alison, Krissa, Francois, Bruce, and Mathias. Haven’t bought a camera in 10 years a big jump for me to go mirror less. So far liking the switch to the OM-1 system. 15 frame on camera stack.

Not a lot of rain here but the Waxcaps (Hygrocybe) are out in force. Lots of beautiful red mushrooms to be found among the ferns.

Gave a talk and then walk on Bioluminescence and UV fluorescence at the #Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens. We managed to scare up some UV Fluorescent millipedes which were a crowd pleaser. #UVF #fluorescence #milipede

Very pretty example of a ghost flower, a real fungi friend, it gets it's nutrients from the mycilia of the Russula mushroom.

Lycogala epidendrum or Wolf's milk slime also sometimes called Toothpaste slime. I think they missed a marketing opportunity not naming is Scoop of Raspberry Ice Cream slime.

Thank you! I am also enjoying all your waxcaps (not without a little jealousy since I can't seem to find any locally).

This is the same sample of White-footed Slime (Diachea leucopodia) I posted about a week ago. But now all grown up, iridescent, and imaged with my 10x microscope objective. The color changes are crazy.
