Reading Overdose: Heartbreak and Hope in Canada's Opioid Crisis, a few yrs ago opened my eyes & changed what I believed. So when I was offered an assignment from to write about a study about safe opioid treatment options, I was glad to do it. www.medscape.com/viewarticle/...

Articles are made better when you have good sources and I always appreciate people who take the time to speak with me.

Thanks. Good example.
Early in my career, I was also a 1st aid instructor. I always stressed that calling 911 was one of the most important things the participants would learn.

For an article, I'm looking for examples of medicalese that ppl can misunderstand. For example, some people are upset when they hear a scan is "unremarkable" or a test is "negative." They think "positive" is better.
What have you heard that can be misinterpreted? #health #medicine #doctors #nurses

Happy Thursday to my Canadian friends!
There was a time when a Canada Post strike would be a daily lead news story. That we hear very little about what’s happening tells us how CP has absolutely lost its relevance for many. That said, many small businesses and people still depend on it and are suffering. #strike #canadapost
I had not heard that. Oy.
I can't deactivate it. I keep getting a message that I can't do it and to refresh my page. I've tried several times over the past few months.
Have you ever heard of burning mouth syndrome? It's a rare and very painful condition. I started a website to help people learn about #burningmouthsyndrome - burningquestionsaboutbms.com

It can be challenging if you're seeking help & you encounter a healthcare provider who is a bully. I've experienced it & you'd think, as a nurse, I'd be able to handle it. But it took a while.

With the #Kaiser Permanente strike, my piece from last month is particularly timely. People forget #nurses must care for their own mental & physical #health too. If they don't - they can't care for their pts. Nurses also have bills to pay & life away from work.
