Mount Rainier rises in the distance beyond Lake Washington, lit by warm evening alpenglow on its snowy upper slopes. A dark tree-lined shoreline stretches across the middle of the frame, with a few homes tucked among the trees. In the foreground, the lake shows bands of deep blue and pale reflected light, with gentle ripples moving across the water. The photo feels calm, quiet, and reflective.

I drove over to Colman Park and caught the last bit of sunlight on Mount Rainier.

I really love the contrast between the deep blue of Lake Washington and the soft alpenglow on the mountain. It made this evening feel special to me.
