Side view macro photograph of a dark red/brown eumenine potter wasp standing in a pure white backdrop on four legs, the front legs held up next to its body. The wings are folded fan-like into narrow, metallic blue-black strips held over the abdomen.
Toltec Potter Wasp, Parazumia tolteca. Texas.
A fake NPR headline, reading "Deville shakes up fashion scene, defying traditional animal welfare practices"
Every headline nowadays:
This wheel is to the boy squirrel the way that the football is to Charlie Brown and it still makes me laugh every time he tries to use it only to be immediately spun.
I'm often labeled as a lesbian, but I have my own complicated relationship to gender and attraction. And I like m/m material. I'm speaking about my own experiences here, and I often wonder how it is for other people!
...And fictional m/m sex scenes let them (us?) explore that in a safe, private way.
Or a combination of both! Inserting yourself into the scene lets you imagine sex where you can subvert your own gender and all of the societal baggage that comes with it— and all of this while getting off.
I'm also super interested in this question!
It could be that it's a gender thing, in that a lot of women (gay or not) may prefer sex scenes where m/f gender dynamics aren't involved.
Or it could be a gender thing in another sense: many lesbians have a complicated relationship to their own gender
Not sure why a missing person alert went out to literally everyone in my state as a "severe alert." This person was abducted almost two hours away from my location.
AMBER alerts are already misused; if that overflows into the "severe" alert category, people are just going to turn those off too.
E is one of my biggest hurdles to being creative right now (art and writing). I keep thinking if I'm not spending time mastering the fundamentals than it's not worth it. Hence not much getting done.
"Done is better than perfect" is a great sentiment for me going into the new year.
D1) again, this is difficult to pull off at longer lengths. But you don't get good at a thing by not doing it.
E) YOU DON'T GET GOOD AT A THING BY NOT DOING IT done is better than perfect. Don't worry so much about "practicing right" just practice. You can adjust as you need as you go on.

Battery-electric buses may sound good on paper to those who don't interact with transit, but they've been nothing short of a disaster for our transit agency.
Like, buses already reduce vehicle emissions! By their nature! And service cuts aren't only going to increase emissions, they're going to create more car traffic and parking issues, which is already contentious in my small college town.
I live in an area with a small transit system that recently switched the majority of its fleet to battery-electric. As a result of the bus manufacturer's incompetence, all of those vehicles have a recall on them, meaning the agency will be cutting service to accommodate. It sucks massively.
I love the contrasts of wintertime, and sometimes I fantasize about living at a higher latitude. But I can't even imagine what my version of SAD would be like there: the manic rebound of springtime (and the lesser version in fall). I think I would probably explode.
A sepia toned black and white picture of Vincent Price as a young man. He's a white brunette man with a thin mustache and a tall build.
Happy Horror Month to goth Daddy, bisexual icon Vincent Price.

Here's a T. Rex bored to death trying to bite their own tail. My partner asked me to animate it in stop motion, after she watched a video about the very important topic of "could T. Rex chew its own tail like a dog". The puppet is still a work in progress 🦖
I am the very model of a modern aging lesbian
Glad my Watergate Phase kind of naturally faded before we started getting a Watergate every day (without anybody who matters seeming to care)
I love unnecessarily sexy statues. My favorite being Thirst Trap Lincoln from the LA County Superior Courthouse.

I did get to watch the carpenter bees slowly wake up in the sun
This is the best I could do
I'm sorry wasp but you are just so shiny
