🚨New dinosaur! The latest salvo in the Spinosaurus saga.

A Spinosaurus looking like Elvis, with an outrageous bony head crest. Discovered in the Sahara by my undergrad mentor Paul Sereno & his team.

Super cool! But I'm sure nobody on the internet will care about it... 😉

In a yellowing Cretaceous ginkgo tree, a chestnut, black and white Sinornithosaurus perches on a branch beneath a black, iridescent Microraptor. It has a small mammal in its jaws, which the Sinornithosaurus covets. Another Microraptor, all four wings spread, approaches to land. Ginkgo leaves fall around them, and X-shaped Microraptor silhouettes glide in the skies behind.

Kilushan is an omnivore in temperate forest canopies, in the Leatherwing group with primitive form. Large, bone-supported ears like foreleg wings act as auxiliary wings, enabling flight and gliding like a biplane.

Camakira, a Leatherwing of the Lantern-ashland, is an opportunistic predator adapted to dark volcanic lands. With a mouth crest that amplifies ultrasound, it scans wide ranges, and its big toe bears a large claw for striking ill-fated prey.

Cozacua is a insect-eater Leatherwing of the mirror salt flats. Its wings adjust surface area with spurs and fingers, while long tail filaments aid balance. Crests on its mouth spread when open, and sticky fluid traps swarming insects mid-flight.

"Oh, my God"

"What is it?"

"It's a birdcage"

"For what?"

My 3D anatomical study of a large male Pteranodon longiceps. The skeleton is a generalised composite as per usual with my models, but is scaled to UNSM 50130 (a very large and almost complete wing)

Speculative shaggy, tailless and short-frilled horned dinosaurs with scooping, shovel-like nasal "horns" in a snowy setting.

A speculative armoured therizinosaur adapted for high browsing in a tropical landscape. Possibly the stupiest animal concept you'll see today, maybe the stupidest you'll see all week.

A speculative gigantic sauropod adapted for browsing grasslands during the cool of the night. It's so big that the moon has abandoned its usual passage around the Earth and now orbits the sauropod.

To liven up Tuesday afternoon, have some speculative #dinosaurs adapted for modern habitats. Respectively, they are the magnificent and steppe fissurefrills, the berk, and the grand field titan. It's nice to take a break from pure #paleoart every now and then, and designing animals is fun.

The Cie-Aviir is a type of Leatherwing and an apex predator that inhabits highland regions.
In the language of the indigenous people, its name means "Emperor of the Sky".
