If we want to end poverty, housing justice has to be part of the work.
When housing is denied or taken away, poverty follows. Housing access shapes everything, including jobs, schooling, health and stability. The Fair Housing Act banned housing discrimination, but it did not end poverty.
#OTD in 1968, the Fair Housing Act was signed, banning housing discrimination. It was a major step toward equity, but housing inequality and segregation persist. #TheMarchContinues

The Supreme Court must uphold the Constitution and not allow the Trump administration to disregard more than a century of established law.
An amendment that has stood for 156 years should not be erased by one signature on one executive order.
The #14thAmendment's guarantee of citizenship to all persons born in the U.S. is one of our nation's bedrock principles.
The government cannot infringe on any child's right to freedom and equality because of the immigration status of their parents.

#OTD in 1866, the Civil Rights Act of 1866 became law, establishing birthright citizenship and equal rights under the law. Its promise has been challenged ever since. #TheMarchContinues
These attacks on birthright citizenship are once again leaning on the harmful history of anti-Indigenous sentiment.
Since the nation's inception, exclusionary politicians have questioned the rights and respect owed to Indigenous people.
This is white supremacy at work, and we won't stand for it.
As we've reported, Islamophobia is surging in the U.S., and it's now being echoed in our country's halls of power.
Justice Alito's suggestion that the children of Iranian immigrants cannot have sufficient allegiance to the U.S. to deserve citizenship is offensive. www.bbc.com/news/live/cj...
Anyone born on U.S. soil receives citizenship. The Supreme Court must uphold the Constitution.
Forcing new parents to prove their children’s citizenship would cause logistical chaos, all to fulfill the wishes of anti-immigrant demagogues.
Anti-immigrant groups like the Federation for American Immigration Reform are trying to influence the Supreme Court to side with the administration.
Hate should not have a seat at the table.

White nationalist extremists have long hoped to repeal #BirthrightCitizenship guaranteed under the #14thAmendment.
The Trump administration is trying to make that fringe idea a reality — with arguments straight out of the extremist playbook.
