Day 3 #100dayproject. A quick painting of poppies. Done with watercolour and inks. Mixing the 2 can be very rich. I usually make the initially marks with watercolours adding quite a bit of water to the brush and then add inks in to the watercolours get that spontaneous vibrant effect.

I used @kuretakezig_usa pens plus @carandache Neo colours.
These are great dry materials that you can carry when you’re travelling because they are all water soluble.
I am hoping that I can do the #100dayproject this year. I have kept it simple this year with a broader theme- PAINTING PLACES AND THINGS I LOVE in my sketchbook. Always a challenge to balance it with regular art with commitments but fingers 🤞🏼

I had the joy of signing copies of Samina Goes to a Wedding at @ontariolibraryassociation Super Conference with Owl Books, last Thursday. Whether it’s my first book or my fourth picture book, the feeling of signing a book I created is always so humbling and amazing.
