Oh cool! Would love any resources you have to share so I can start brainstorming for my course!

Any resources @mathartforall.bsky.social ? I’m free to teach any content I want but it needs to be connected to common core standards for high school in some way. I’ll have a wide variety of skill levels in my class and kids in grades 10-12.
Fun!!
Perfect!! Thanks.
Anyone teach a high school course about Math and Visual Arts? Seeking ideas for the course I’ll be doing next year! #mtbos #iteachmath
NYT on Feb. 13, 2026: The visit also demonstrated the relative foreign policy inexperience of Ms. Ocasio-Cortez, who has made a few overseas trips since taking office but does not sit on any House committees devoted primarily to world affairs. She struggled at times to formulate succinct answers at a nighttime panel session, during which she was asked probing and specific questions about how to respond to international crises. Questioned about whether the United States should send troops to defend Taiwan if China invaded the island, she stalled for roughly 20 seconds before offering a substantive response. “I think that, uh, this is such a, a — you know, I think that — this is a, um — this is of course, a, uh, a very longstanding, um, policy of the United States,” Ms. Ocasio-Cortez said, before saying that the country should try to avoid reaching that point with China in the first place.
NYT on March 16, 2026: On Monday, Mr. Trump claimed that “numerous countries have told me they’re on the way,” noting that President Emmanuel Macron of France would most likely help in the Strait of Hormuz and was an eight out of 10. “Not perfect, but it’s France,” he said. Others are not demonstrating sufficient enthusiasm for his demands, he said.
Last month the NYT said AOC "struggled" to give an answer on Taiwan and quoted her with "uhs" and "ums" to make her look stupid
Yesterday talking about Hormuz Trump claimed he's heard from "numerous countries" and said "uh" four times. The NYT deleted the "uhs" and paraphrased him to look smarter:
We’ve spiraled back to two-way tables. Anyone have any good ones??
Cool idea!
some who excel at math, some who hate it, various grades and levels of English proficiency. The current teacher has kids work on things in Khan every day which I don’t want to do. I want to create a course that’s meaningful, but also won’t be too time-consuming to build.

Next yr I’ll be teaching a HS “math elective” class for kids who need to make up math credits. I can teach anything as long as it’s connected to the CCSS. Has anyone built a course like this? Any ideas of what would be most engaging for kids? Resources to pull from? I will have a wide range of kids…

I had the pleasure of being a guest on The Present Edge on @kgnuradio.bsky.social last night. Playing some (quasi)classical music with my old friend Katherine @matherinep.bsky.social

This looks like a wonderful opportunity for high school math students interested in working with real-world data!
Our first day is next week! Share any ideas you have for emerging English language learners in 10th grade to start talking about math on the first day of school...
I know a lot of people who use Duolingo.
Teachers work their asses off to educate, foster creativity and independence and support your children as the individuals they are.
I urge you to reconsider and let your money/data point do the talking.
I appreciate the breakdown about Chat-GPT/AI in an accessible way, and through an issue that young people care about.
Do any Colorado teachers have opinions about the #PERA elections??
We studied parabolas earlier this semester in 10th grade math. I visited the Very Large Array this weekend and showed this picture to my classes from space.com. Was very stoked that one kid saw it and said “Parabolic!” (Second pic is mine from one of the displays.)
I turned my most boring math lesson into one of my most engaging ones. Here's how:
I am both proud and grumpy that I taught my 8 year old nephew some of these games today and he beat me in most of them. mathwithbaddrawings.com/2020/04/22/s...
Besides the IM curriculum for A1/G/A2, what are other good problem-based math curriculum for HS? Ones that follow the experience first, formalize later model. I also know of Math/Stats/Calc Medic.
What else is out there?
Anybody on here run a math club at their high school? I'm going to start one at my school next year and would love to chat with you! #iteachmath #mtbos
Add me! I teach 10th grade math in Colorado.

A great resource to hand out to students. Many of them have no idea what their rights are as an immigrant.

I have so many students who are so worried about deportations. How are y'all checking in with students and supporting them amongst the chaos?
Oh my gosh that’s wild!! Luckily our outages have all just been one day at a time. So I can deal but it’s definitely frustrating!
Have any other public K-12 teachers in the US been dealing with district Internet outages this year? Today is the third time this school year my school has NO internet. I can’t even make hand written worksheets for the kids cuz we can’t log into the printers to make copies. 😭
