This painting, titled "Malcesine on Lake Garda" (1913), is an oil painting by Austrian Symbolist Gustav Klimt. The original no longer exists, destroyed in May 1945 by fire at Schloss Immendorf in Austria, reportedly set by retreating German forces in World War II.

Saw Cool Hand Luke for the first time today, @musicboxtheatre.bsky.social. In many ways it’s exactly the ‘60s rebel movie you expect, but I like that part of it is also that Luke is just a weird goofball. And, man, is George Kennedy having fun.

Look at the women at NASA.
They are the ones pushing the boundaries of science, solving problems most people can’t even understand, and carrying this country forward, while our politicians right now posture and stumble through talking points.
And they are doing it all with joy.👇

ICE IS DETAINING HUMAN BEINGS IN INHUMANE CONDITIONS. REPORTS OF PEOPLE BEING SHOT, STRIPPED AND NEGLECTED ARE OUTRAGEOUS. IMMIGRANT RIGHTS ARE HUMAN RIGHTS, AND WE DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY. NO ONE SHOULD BE TREATED LIKE THIS. STAND UP, SPEAK OUT AND DEFEND DIGNITY. ICE AND RIGHTS.

Egon Schiele, Moa, 1911. Gouache and pencil on paper. A three-quarter profile portrait of dancer Moa Mandu, depicted in bold, painterly strokes of cobalt blue, burnt ochre, olive green and coral red against a pale cream background. The subject's dark hair is pinned up with a red ribbon, her face turned slightly towards the viewer with an intense, watchful expression. The ornamental layering of her clothing dominates the composition, rendered in Schiele's characteristic expressionist style with visible, energetic brushwork.
🎨 Egon Schiele's Moa (1911) captures dancer Moa Mandu in explosive gouache — cobalt, ochre & coral colliding in pure expressionist drama. One of Vienna's most scandalous bohemians, immortalised forever. 🖤 #ArtHistory #FineArt

A Post-Impressionist painting by Émile Bernard titled The Cliffs of Yport. The artwork features towering, stylised cliffs in shades of dusty pink and mustard yellow, set against a vibrant blue sea and a pale pink sky. A small red sailboat rests on the water, while a figure in a crimson cloak and a white hood stands on a grassy ledge near a reddish-brown cow. The style uses the Cloisonnist technique with bold, dark outlines and flat areas of vivid colour.
Ditch the Impressionist blur. 🎨 Émile Bernard’s 'The Cliffs of Yport' (1892) is a masterclass in Cloisonnism. By using bold outlines and dreamlike pinks, Bernard prioritised memory over direct observation, changing the course of modern art forever. A radical vision of the French coast. 🇫🇷 #ArtHistory
J. M. W. Turner, The Burning of the Houses of Lords and Commons, 1835, oil on canvas. A dramatic Romantic painting depicting the catastrophic fire of 16th October 1834, with fierce orange and red flames reflected in the River Thames, crowds gathered on the riverbanks, and Westminster visible through smoke-filled skies.
🔥 The Night London Burned: Turner's 'Burning of the Houses of Parliament' (1835) captures London on the night of October 16, 1834! Witness fire vs Parliament in breathtaking swathes of amber & crimson. A Romantic masterpiece that still burns bright. 🎨 #ArtHistory #FineArt
A photograph of a red brick wall with a grey concrete footing and a black wood framed double window each with four lites. Drain pipes in the corner at the left of the frame are covered in dozens of stickers. On a patch of the grey footing at the bottom right corner of the frame a phrase has been stenciled in black all capital letters. It reads: "Fabulous nonsense can manipulate a smart mind" Photo taken in London's Brick Lane area.
Fabulous Nonsense.
