Books in English on Jogo do Pau are a little difficult to find, and some are out of print. A few are $20-30, one was $150, and this specific copy is listed for the typical "fuck you" out-of-print price.

I've never been an SCA person, for a few strongly held reasons. I think there's a critical mass of people who speak a common language from these related activities that make random conversations like this possible.
