Thrilled to share our new study just out in PNAS!
🧠 We found that enhancing KCC2 function prevents seizures in epilepsy.
Huge thanks to the patients & clinical partners for this translational work.
👏🏼 Congrats to lead author Florian Donneger for this long term endeavor

🚨 New preprint from the lab!
🧠 Despite representing <5% of total #KCC2 in mature neurons, we show that the KCC2a isoform acts as a powerful developmental switch: inhibiting KCC2b early on, then boosting its membrane expression and fonction in the adult brain.

Illustration of a “paper mill” operation. On the left, people in lab coats and suits, some with money in hand, feed data into a large machine. On the right, a shadowy figure collects freshly printed fake scientific papers emerging from the machine. Image credit: DAVIDE BONAZZI/SALZMANART
A new study uncovers how paper mills and brokers collaborate to drive large-scale scientific fraud. Fraudulent publications are rising far faster than legitimate ones.
