Tragic Childhood Death from Measles Reminds Us That Some Don't Understand Either the Medical Significance or the Human Heart My ID colleague Dr. Adam Ratner, Chief of Pediatric ID at NYU Medical Center, just published an insightful and remarkably timely book called Booster Shots:  The Urgent Lessons of Measles and the Uncer...

If someone thinks the measles outbreak and childhood death in Texas are "not unusual" or "happens all the time", they are deeply misinformed. h/t @adamratnermd.bsky.social for the inspiration.

But at least none of them will have autism, isn’t that right, RFK?

Very true. Cocci serologies not always reliable, especially in the immunocompromised hosts.
Ag helpful, but if truly high suspicion — I’d start treatment.

Not sure why the mavs wanted to get rid of Luka so badly….there must be a lot more to this story

Yes all very true, but of course hiv , STIs (etc, all infections) can and do infect anyone of any gender, race, political affiliation etc. maybe they don’t realize or want to realize this. As you said, quite dangerous to censor information from people who may need it.

1 year ago 1 0 1 0

Yep. But that’s an issue. HIV/STI screening and treatment should not be deleted, it’s quite non controversial

1 year ago 0 0 1 0

It’s certainly dangerous to be hiding health information, especially in the setting of infectious disease that can affect populations at any time!

Can anyone explain what the Trump admin is trying to accomplish by doing this?? Of course they want censorship and to “MAHA” however hiv and Sti treatments are all factual and based on significant evidence, and do not seem to be going against any pseudoscience. Purge all current information?

How Should Health Care and Public Health Respond to the New US Administration? This Viewpoint discusses scientific, medical, and public health actions, including withdrawing from the World Health Organization, taken so far during the first week of the Trump administration.

Important for physicians to not sit on the sidelines during this important time. Mass amounts of medical information and FACTs are being deleted, censored from the public and healthcare alike. This admin promised transparency but instead are getting censorship.

Scary to see how much medical information is simply being deleted. How to keep it??
