"No new sites of special scientific interest (SSSIs) have been designated by Natural England since 2023. SSSIs are nationally or internationally important places for rare wildlife and habitats. Without the designation, endangered species can be at risk of being lost to development."

And reactionary politicians decided to ignore the obvious and huge productivity happiness and levelling up gains which would follow from a right to remote work because their real constituency is property developers, real estate owners and right wing newspaper editors

We did - went up to the Theth National Park - one of the wildest, remote places I’ve ever seen in Europe. An area of wild bears and blood feuds. Amazing. I’d love to go back!

The cable car is amazing. Once you get to the “top”, you can keep climbing for another hour and look out over the mountains the other side. So many things I didn’t get to do in that city – I have to return.

Amazing city, amazing country. I guess you’ve been to the bunker museum already? And up the cable to the mountain top where they used to execute dissenters?

I feel I want to see this.

I spent about six months on Witcher 3 a few years ago. It was fun while it lasted, but I didn’t warm to my main character, and found that once you’d done everything, there was no reason to go back to it. A bit like Ghost of Tsushima - pretty, but not up there in a-list for me.

Prices are roughly the same as 20 years ago, but shrinkflation is a real thing. Still great value for money, but like the article says, someone has realised there’s a new market due to foreign TikTok-era now, so some weird stuff has been appearing.

Japanese sandwiches are not what they were, I know that much. The tamago sando today is a pale shadow of the “volume up” variety I used to regularly get 20 years ago.

I guess then that DISCO ELYSIUM could be the one for my needs at the moment, with the occasional break to go back to CLAIR OBSCURE whenever I feel the adrenal compulsion to hit something with a sword or a spell.

Maybe not quite such a life eater is the best bet then, as once it’s done, I can then move on to Pathfinder, which would be unlikely if I did it the other way round. Not played Divinity yet, but my main worry is that it would be less of the same than BG3 rather than something different.

Well I’ll suddenly raise my glass to that! What’s M:P?

4 days ago 0 0 1 0

Yes, it looks very different from the norm, but am not sure if that means it’s right for me, because I thought the same would be true of Clair Obscur. That one isn’t remotely funny nor pointedly political, so you may well have tipped it for me. No opinions on Pathfinder then?

No.

Do elaborate… call me simple, but the lack of fighting had me waivering.

Now you’re complicating the binary choice I’d already cemented in my mind!

After doing my research, it seems either title is going to keep me engaged for a very long time. So any thoughts on which might satisfy the itch?

I also love lengthy strategic battles with the satisfaction of levelling up my character and causing as much mayhem as possible to my foes, which also has been teetering towards the latter.

I have my beady eye on two titles at the moment - DISCO ELYSIUM and PATHFINDER: WRATH OF THE RIGHTEOUS. I love strong sophisticated narratives, which has me swaying towards the former.

PS5 peeps. The rather twee narrative and formulaic gameplay of CLAIR OBSCUR: EXPEDITION 33 is beginning to pall and I think I need to take a break for a little while for something a bit meatier in the BALDURS GATE 3 vein to keep me occupied until GTA6 finally arrives (1/3) #ps5

Not once in the 80s, 90s or 00s do I recall a politician urging the public to embrace email, mobile phones, texting, two factor authentication, online banking, air fryers, or to replace all their cassette collection with a CD collection.

So forgive me if I smell a rat.

Warleigh Nature Reserve, Bath Bath's largest rewilding project has begun: Warleigh Nature Reserve. Right on the River Avon, and already full of beavers.

People of Bath, it would only take £93.50 to get us to £6,000 as donations are doubled by Aviva. All this rain reminds me how much more work we need to do to block land drains and plant wetland trees to catch rainwater before it rushes into the River Avon. www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/warleigh-n...
