For every broken system
Reinforced patterns of being
Rewards for some
And punishments holding it together
Occasionally
One frayed and unbroken whispers
No more
I’d rather stand alone

“Cannibalism of Shame” in my view feels connected to one of the show’s themes… secrets.

Argh! Extremely frustrated with one of my Paint Canada lesson studies. I’m at the stage that the more I attempt to fix it the more I mess it up. Thought about just being done with it and moving on but I’m tenacious as FFFFFF! So it’s put away for tonight and I’ll try again tomorrow.

Flashes of life, a moving feast for the eyes as I zip by alive with blood circulating and warmth easing my body and my mind.

In contrast to processing what disturbs, I seek natures beauty and the light. Inhaling fresh marine air as swells slap against a boat. Watching dapples of light kiss the leaves.

I’m not sure what the science would say about how this helps, but when I’m done I feel more balanced. My nervous system seems better regulated and less frayed.

This is how I process the stuff that wakes me up at 3 am, the content of my nightmares, the intrusive thoughts and memories which disturb. I paint.

SOLD - two of my Manitoba landscapes “Cycle of Life” and “Kisseynew.” A successful show.

Sold my first painting last night. Show continues until Sunday evening. Fingers crossed a few more pieces find their home.
#artshow
Dropped off 12 pieces to my local guild’s spring art show this morning. Fingers crossed that they will find someone who appreciates them.

I’m requiring rest today for health reasons but happy to say I have some good reading available. I haven’t extensively read Isaac Asimov for some reason, so I’m taking “I Robot” out for its maiden voyage.

Here is a look at the completed @acrylicuniversity “Project Hope” along with my contribution “AU Project Hope Square 80.”
More details to come soon.

Try to find the beauty. Darkness is in the alley. Imperfect inside. Probably in need of repair. Something still shines within.

Love this. Love the theme.
A quick intro again. Roxane with one n. An artist who loves to creatively explore the things that both move me & disturb me. I paint & offer up poetic musings mostly to the void. I’m on IG @rxsartstudio. That’s me, that’s all.

He wasn’t wrong. If you look at my work you will see that I’m not concentrating on one niche. I’m doing abstract pieces, landscapes, portraits & I am working in different mediums. Here is the thing. ⬇️

Thank you! I enjoyed this read.
This does seem to be the sentiment. I’m expecting now to come across many examples.
Some of them I don’t think I want back but some of it would be nice to recover.
Lost things
Annoyingly, and frequently
My keys, glasses, a lonely sock
Misplaced and later found
Lost things
Non tangible
A friend, a love, a marriage
Mental health, clarity of thought
A career
The places lived in
But never fit in
Youth and its vitality
Abandoned
Misplaced
Never to be found
If I can pull myself away from painting today I may have to give this prompt a go.
