Sorry
The majority of our Iris are the Japanese Iris - Iris ensata and a few Siberian iris
They sound like the are loving their new garden bed and 5 feet tall, that is good or are you really 4 feet tall and the look big. (Joking sorry)
If you are starting to see a hollow space forming in the centre of the clump then that is a good sign that the clump should be divided. What type of Iris do you have?
Sounds like you have everything going in the right direction now. With the Iris if you give them a good feed after they flower will get them in good shape for next season.
Well well . That’s good news and see anything is possible. Sometimes it comes down to the season other times it can be as a plant matures

Here on Raymond Island it is shaping up for a very floral Christmas. Between the weekly rainfall and mild temperatures everything is happening.

We went for a walk along the Koala Trail this morning. Attached are a few images of some of the natives flowering along the trail.
Never say it can’t be done. The bulbs are normally purchased from January onwards for autumn planting. Dry bulbs are the best way of purchasing them. Keep an eye on Garden Express, Hancock Daffodils and VDQ Bulbs. Shop around.

It is a blue ixia. I think they may call it amethyst blue
We have had to rethink the layout and the type of plants so that I can still play in my garden as MSA takes its course

It is now late spring here in Australia and lately I have been able to spend more time in our garden even if if is just sitting and enjoying it. I hope to be able to get on a bit of a roll from here and show you the development of our new garden space.
Hard to believe it’s been 9 months since my last post but that’s what MSA is like it takes a bit of you away at a time. The progression of the disease has progressed but I am not ready to give into it.
The bright lights of summer
Hibiscus moscheutos - perennial hibiscus also known as Rose Mallow. Just starting to flower and setting flowers to dinner plate size from summer through to autumn. Goes completely to the ground for winter and then flowering at 150cm

I cut it back after each flush of flowers and it appears to work. I find it can become woody if not clipped regularly

Next time you are taking photographs in the garden ‘Get down low’. It is really interesting the beauty you will find in your garden by getting down with the snails and taking a few photographs. #gardening #photography #gardenphotography #bloomscrolling #downlowinthegarden #flowers #differentpics
‘Agapanthus Guilfoyle’
We will always find a space for this beautiful agapanthus in our garden. It’s spectacular flowers stand tall and go on and on for a long season. The images below show the same flower over 8 weeks so far. #gardens #bloomscrolling #floral #colourful #photograpy #blueflowers

‘Sharing Your Passion’
One of the greatest pleasures of developing a large garden with a collection of rare and different plants, is sharing it with others. Our old garden was open to visitors 8 months of the year. It allowed viewing through the seasons and the life cycle of plants. #gardening
We have a tiny garden now on 800sqm
These photographs are from our old garden in Tasmania. The garden is in the Tamar Valley and climate considered as cool temperate

Plant Combinations
Some planting combinations just happen. The elements such as colour, texture and form happen. It’s nature at its best.
