Extraordinary - in an article about resilience, not a single word about “cascading risks” of ecosystem collapse which a recent report from PM’s own security advisers warned could lead to food shortages, civil unrest & conflict. Ministers suppressed, then redacted, the report & still won’t act on it
Did BBC radio 4 #Today programme really just do a whole package about drilling in the N Sea without once even mentioning #climate change? And not having anyone challenging the one-sided claims of former BP boss? So irresponsible #bbcr4today
"Among young American men, the strongest predictor of support for the tradwife lifestyle was not gallantry but hostility towards women"
Apparently this is not what researchers "expected". Which makes one wonder: had these researchers thought about it for 30 seconds?

Hard to know which is more shocking - the dire warnings of the potential collapse of our food system in the UK or the fact that governments have tried to cover it up. Their complacency is off the scale. We urgently need to switch to growing more food domestically & to restore nature now

Thousands left without water in the middle of winter in the UK. And those same people are now facing a massive bill hike.
Privatised water is a scam.
I've written to the Prime Minister asking why he won't end this rip off and bring failing South East Water into public hands.

I was pondering buying the collected Halo Jones hardback issue before Christmas, but got distracted! My favourite ever t-shirt (probably) was a Halo Jones | Hoop | Increased Leisure Citizen print. 🤘🧡🤘
The slogan, upon ponderation, is perhaps, particularly apt. “It’s wild… (well, chaotic, at least). It’s sensational… (yep, full of extreme and difficult to process sensation). It’s your future! (was, and still is, it seems). That Tharg knew their stuff… 🤘😂🤘
That seems about right. Still sitting on my bookshelves.
branding for my memoir TEN GIGS. A vintage suitcase illustration.
I'm going to write a book and post it on my substack.
One chapter every month, for a year.
TEN GIGS is a memoir.
Ten gigs that shaped my life. For good and bad.
This is scary!
I'd love your support - by signing up, or sharing my work, or ideally both!

In Uruguay, families co-own and co-build their homes through housing cooperatives. Some chip in savings, others swing hammers.
The result? Affordable, dignified housing that stays off the private market, and a blueprint the world can learn from.

my great-grandparents arrived in the UK in the 1890s with nothing.
they sold pickles from the front room window, took in laundry, worked as tailors.
their children were nurses, teachers, salesmen.
their grandchildren were professors, designers, opticians, doctors, magistrates, entrepreneurs.
My dad abhors any negative comments about immigrants. Asked him recently why he’s so strong on it: ‘Because we’re always happy to take the rich and clever ones. Which means it’s not about disliking immigrants. It’s about disliking the poor and vulnerable. And that’s a bad human instinct.’
At some point we might realise this isn’t just about race, but about the biggest social problem we face: the belief that only rich people are worth anything, that the world must bend to their needs and wants and that the richer you are, the more important and valuable you are to the species
Over 1000 anti racists turned up to support Falkirk Unity March and Rally.
An important minute's silence was held during the march for all victims of sexual violence and assault.

Morning!
I've been hearing the same 7 notes in my head for my entire life - and only just discovered where they come from.
So I made a little video about it. Enjoy! Share! Etc!
