As a former Chief Wellness Officer, this is spot on. The work must go far deeper to change the culture of medicine which currently places “the work” above the humanity of those giving the much needed clinical care.

Thanks to all for a wonderful conference learning and connecting. Special thanks to the #aahpm conference planners and amazing staff, and to those who got me back on Bluesky.
Dynamic discussion from Dr. Patrick White and Dr. Debra Oliver on terminal breathing changes and the distress effect on family caregivers. Huge reason for crises, return to ER, and disenrollment from hospice. #hapc25

In palliative care, much of my hospital consult work was educating others on the importance of early consults and the time needed to do them well. These two slides (by Dr. Greer and Dr. Temel) are key in illustrating why: much of the value add requires rapport, and rapport takes time. #hapc25
Honoring an inspiring mentor, who literally never gives up. Forever indebted. #hapc25 @aahpm.bsky.social

Great quote from Dr. Martin that summarizes the discrepancy between the audit efforts, intents, and impacts. #hapc2025
Re: new hospice regulations “these regulations do nothing to target fraud. The bank is being robbed and the police are outside giving parking tickets. These auditors find a missing signature and they celebrate back at the office.” #hapc2025
Hello old friends! Wow it’s good to “see” all of you again online, and some of you in person at #hapc25.
Hi All. For those who moved to Bluesky before my last post on the other (*ahem*) platform, just a quick update that I made a move June 2024 to Vitas Hospice Medical Director for the state of CT. Thanks to those who encouraged me to rejoin the online community! I’ve missed you. 😊
