If you liked the hard magic system, that it was science-y with firm rules, you'd probably also like Lightbringer by Brent Weeks and Powder Mage by Brian McClellan. And as others have noted anything in Sanderson's Cosmere, like Mistborn.

NASA’s Artemis II crew experience total solar eclipse from space From the perspective of the Orion capsule, the moon will fully block the sun’s disk for nearly an hour

The crew of Artemis II is experiencing a total solar eclipse RIGHT NOW from just a few thousand miles above the lunar surface. Here's why it's cool and what they could see 🧪 🔭

One of the many things I love is the #Artemis2 crew celebrating one another's wins- they constantly are praising their crew member's efforts, getting excited about their excitement, sharing time equally on camera, being sensitive to needs... it's a PhD in how to be a good team member.

Oh look, a ResearchGate notification. Maybe someone interacted with my work, perhaps even cited it, how exciting!

ResearchGate - Here's your stats for the week where basically nothing happened.

Also, the app has been crashing a lot for me since the last update.

I discovered the elusive chestnut mining bee in New York after a gap of 119 years For decades, there was no record of Andrena rehni exisiting in the US. In 2018 it was found in Maryland and five years later I found it in New York State

There's a lot of doom and gloom in the world, but positive environmental stories abound. You just have to look for them. Here’s a beautiful story of the chestnut mining bee being discovered in New York after a gap of 119 years. Amazing.

Welcome! You are invited to join a webinar: MGLP Lake Conservation Series: Long-term and regional-scale data reveal divergent trends of different climate variables on fish body size over 75 years. Aft... Across many different groups of animals, climate change has induced a general shift towards smaller body sizes. However, support for climate-induced reductions in body size is mixed with some species ...

Tune in to the Midwest Glacial Lakes Partnership webinar this upcoming Tuesday (3/17/26) to hear about our recent work on changes in fish body size related to climate change.

Bonus: I get to talk about fishes on St. Patrick's Day and I'm Irish🍀

The workflow illustrates a step-by-step process for conducting causal analyses. Arrows indicate the typical flow of an analysis. Two possible pathways are shown: causal discovery approaches (blue), which aim to identify the existence of causal relationships when pre-existing knowledge is low, and causal inference approaches (yellow), which aim to quantify the direction and magnitude of causal effects when pre-existing knowledge is high. The gray feedback loop on the right highlights the iterative refinement of causal analyses based on assessments of the plausibility of causal assumptions.

Braided rivers look chaotic, but their food webs tell a different story.
Using stable isotopes, we found that fish, birds, and spiders connect resources across huge spatial scales — revealing hidden structures that help stabilise these dynamic ecosystems.
