How would you react if someone decided you’d no longer have water treatment & plumbing?
That you’d be rolling a dice with water from your faucet. That you’d have to poop in a bucket & dump it in the street, your yard, a ditch.
You’d probably be horrified & outraged, right?

“COVID vaccines are not yet available and are expected to start rolling out across Canada in the fall.” 🙃
New research shows Long COVID and chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) share the same biological problem: their bodies struggle to use oxygen properly during exercise.
Here's a full breakdown - and what it means.
Congratulations Tahlia!
When I had my son, there was no fluoride in water where we lived and I fell for the “granola mom” influence of fluoride free toothpaste. At age 4 he had to have surgery for 6 root canals with silver caps - we called them Pirate teeth - but I was mortified to have let that happen.
When I was around 5 I got into a bottle of those pink fluoride pills and ate quite a few. Not to brag, but I was near the top of my class throughout all of my schooling. And didn’t have a cavity until I was an adult.
Once again, these guidelines have many issues with them - the fact they encourage exercise while acutely infected with SARS-CoV-2 to prevent Long Covid is very alarming. No evidence at all to support that recommendation. Please don’t highlight these guidelines.

Imagine you wake up and find you have cancer. It’s devastating to your body, your life. And at least twice a week, you see articles titled “The world has moved on from cancer.” When you go to doctors, they say, oh cancer? Have you tried SSRIs? Your friends occasionally ask if your cancer is better.
Clayton is amazing!!!
There’s been INTERNATIONAL attention on these guidelines, and not because of how good they are. That should say something. Journalists should speak w clinicians savvy in Long Covid who know how damaging these are, and the patients who understand who much damage this can cause us. 🖤🤘
Except that they have poorly worded recommendations on exercise, which has a low level of evidence. Many in the Long COVID community have concerns over a number of these guidelines.
A new international survey has been released exploring the experiences of athletes with ME / Long Covid (with PEM)

Absolutely. Return to work cannot be considered until you can manage activities of daily living without crashing. And then if work is introduced, it shouldn’t be happening at the expense of activities of daily living.
Second post that is also high on my priorities: changing the disability insurance industry to better reflect the needs of people with complex health issues like Long Covid.

There is a logo representing the program (5 circles around a maple leaf) and a cartoon drawing of a woman wearing headphones holding a warm drink. Text reads Long Covid Connect: Community and Support. Creating community, providing support and connecting you to the information you need to help you manage living with Long COVID.
First post! And it’s about something that is near and dear to me - our Long COVID Connect program. This is a non profit, peer facilitated program open to anyone living with Long COVID.
