Nailed it 😎

Nailed it #parkrun
Think I got a course PB at my local #parkrun this morning. Anxiously awaiting my email 😬
Jam first every time
No the nearest parkrun to where I am is a bit of a drive (and I’ve done it before). This is probably more of a hiking weekend

We’ve escaped to Cornwall for a few days. Revisiting old haunts - we lived here for three years and haven’t been back since we left in 2017. It feels just the same 🥰
Good luck for the marathon, go smash it!
We're planning a camping weekend. Rain coats are going to be the first thing we pack for sure!
Happy annual "trying to remember how your roof bars and box fit on your car day", for anyone else going through it today. Haven't swore yet, but it feels likely #bankholiday
I’m trying not to picture myself turning up at University with a cake. I can’t promise I wouldn’t.
Photo of a cake on a blue and white plate. It is round and has white icing with the Witcher wolf symbols in black fondant
Teen is 15 tomorrow and requested a Witcher cake. This is my effort. Previous years have involved Zelda, Minecraft, dragon, pirate and space cakes, amongst others. I’m sad there many not be many more such things 🥲

Increased the distance by one more km today. Shoulder still feeling great 👍 I think I’m at the time limit of what I can do before work - thank goodness for lighter evenings! #runchat
Occasionally. But I’m extremely unphotogenic at the best of times, never mind in the middle of a run, so it’s not something I’m usually inclined to spend money on.
Wood ones can be nice - but the Cheltenham Half one from 2021 is so thin it feels really flimsy. Interesting they switched back to metal after that, I think people complained. I think whatever it’s made from it needs to have enough weight to actually hang!
I like it. Perspex as an alternative to metal seems to work quite well. They did the same last time but it had a tractor rather than flowers

It’s just another #medalmonday (two in a row!)
Teen wants a Witcher cake for his birthday. Googling for inspiration and troubled by how many variations on the theme of “Geralt of Rivia in a bath” cakes there are.

Such a great event at Run Upcote this morning. I failed yet again to not look ridiculous while running, however this was almost EIGHT MINUTES faster than when I did this event in 2024 😲😲 #trailrunning #runchat
Photo of a boxed game called “Jet Lag Hide and Seek”
We had a fab time playing Jet Lag Hide and Seek today. Highly recommended if you want something that teens will enjoy, gets you outside and has some challenge to it. We played it using the local bus network in Cheltenham, this worked reasonably well #jetlagthegame
Really looking forward to Run Upcote, a local 5 mile trail event, which I’m doing tomorrow. Just need to remember about the clocks going forward so I don’t miss it 🤣
Well done! What a great time!
Happy #parkrunday to all those partaking today. I am not, as we’re having a family day playing Hide and Seek (if you watch @jetlagthegame.bsky.social on YouTube - that. We got addicted to it last year so bought the cards and are going to play it today)
I really can't put this more clearly.
If you watch the new Harry Potter series, you are directly funding the genocide of trans people, because that's what Rowling gleefully spends HP revenue on.
There's no "death of the author" here, no "there's lots of awful creators." You are funding genocide.
Some people do seem to get in suspiciously often. I will enter the ballot every year but in the same way I occasionally buy a lottery ticket - as a dream, not as a real plan!
Great news, I'm so pleased for you. Enjoy the time off, and the fresh start
Annual reminder: don't spray spring dandelions with roundup or similar chemicals. One flower can be visited by 100+ bees in a day, and your chemicals will kill all of them.
I assume at this point they will let you know tomorrow and you’re not sat there waiting to hear?
Doesn’t surprise me, my NB teen had a miserable time with them a few y was a back. My own experience in the 90s was also pretty grim, not sure why people bother any more when the scouts seem to be mixed genders
