The view captures tall trees with a carpet of bluebells for company. In the middle of the image a member of the public is walking focused on his mobile phone. The lesson, do not forget to look up!
I was in the process of framing a view and the gentleman captured walked across my lens. I decided to capture the image. Bluebells. Catch them when you can for they will not last!

I took this photo in 2009, when I visited Lebanon. This display of murex shells and dyed purple fabric are in the Beirut National Museum in Lebanon, which I visited. I also visited Sidon(Saida) on that trip.
Purple dye, originally produced by the Phoenicians of Tyre and Sidon in Lebanon, was very expensive because it took 12-250,000(😳) murex snails to produce an ounce of dye. Hence, the color “royal”purple. Only monarchs could afford it. #AlphabetChallenge #WeekPForPurple #History #Textiles

Photo taken from a boardwalk trail on South Hills, San Luis Obispo, California. There are a couple of hikers ahead further down the hill, while a hill stretches upwards on the left side of the photo. Straight ahead in the distance is a taller mountain that is dark green/brown at the top with golden fields at its base. It rises up from the city of San Luis Obispo. Due to our dry winter, our fields and hills have already dried and turned a golden color instead of the green they should be right now. The sky is blue with a few thin, puffy clouds.

Tried a new trail today that has a boardwalk on South Hills. The mountain in the background is Cerro San Luis, the mountain I climb the most.

We are looking at a painting of St Liphardus - a 6th-century lawyer, hermit and abbot in Meung-sur-Loire near Orléans, France. He is wearing bishops clothing including a surplus and mitre and is holding a crook. On a lead is a small knee high green and blue dragon.
We’re very sorry sir but you cannot bring your emotional support dragon in here.

Taken just 24 hours after the image I posted yesterday, the scene had been completely transformed by snowstorms and a high tide. The pools and shapes behind the boat house were hidden below the tide, while fresh snow added interest and texture to the foreground rocks.
Another image from the northern coast of Spain and another incredible seascape location. Shot last March on our recce tour, this rugged stretch of the Asturias coastline is full of stunning spots, but Peña Flecha was one of my favourites.
Back home after a fantastic week on the island of Madeira.
Now looking forward to a week of workshops chasing bluebells and wild garlic through the backwaters of Dorset.
A high-contrast, black-and-white architectural photograph of the historic facade of 64 Waterloo Street in Glasgow. The focus is on the ornate entrance, which features a weathered wooden door under a decorative arched window. Above the ground floor, two stone statues of Highland figures stand on plinths flanking a central window. The building's stone texture and classical carvings are highlighted by deep shadows, giving it a gothic, atmospheric character.

A photo of the side of a modern building in Manchester this afternoon. It gas long vertical sections with diagonal metal strips and diagonal glass panels. Reflected in the glass is the nearby John Rylands Library, a gothic style building built in around 1890.

A photo looking down from a small bridge over the Rochdale Canal in Manchester this afternoon. Two old black painted wooden lock gates in front with the still water of the canal stretching out towards the city. On the left branches of a pink blossom tree stretch over the canal. The canal towpath on the right is next to old factory buildings and a hipster bar on the right. Two young men from the canal society are stood on the path chatting away to each other

An Industrial Town by L. S. Lowery (1944) 🎨
In this banquet scene, Paolo Veronese (d. OTD 1588) creates a vast tableau of incredible opulence for the lucky Dominican friars of SS. Giovanni e Paolo. But is it Biblical? The Inquisition wants to know!
The bronze caliga is exhibited at the Museo Civico Archeologico of Bologna. This photo was taken at a temporary exhibition held at the Museum und Park Kalkriese.
#ArtefactSunday - Bronze caliga from an over-life-size statue of a Roman cavalryman from the 1st or the 2nd century AD. Caligae were heavy hobnailed military boots worn by Roman legionaries, auxiliaries, and cavalrymen throughout the Roman Republic and Empire.
