Happy Earth Day ~
We had every reason to be hopeful, I think, when Earth Day was first celebrated. People of vision worked very hard and progress was made. Now, the profiteers hope to sell it all, to sell Our Grandchildren's Earth. Tell them our mother is not for sale.

Engineer "Clancy" Johnson complains that there's just too much work for the Allied crew and one Plymouth switcher, tending industries on both sides of the river; hints he deserves a raise. (Or at least a bigger engine!)

Go Down to the Water ~
A tiny bit of poem from a few years ago. I'd pretty much forgotten this piece, but my phone just put it up on the screen as I was wondering what to post today. I hope the volume works.

Sometimes glad I just do dioramas and none of my trains are expected to go anywhere, unless I pose them in new locations. Much like the cars, trucks, boats and people.

Been a while since we visited this end of the harbor. An autumn afternoon, and an Alco RS-1 pulls the local past the Coast Guard station, its 36' just getting tidied and tied up for the night.

Journey ~
A much-manipulated digital photo, with some finger-painting in Mark Up mode. Is it art? Why? Or why not?

Yeah, OK, I used beach stones to represent 2 hitherto unknown objects which might have been photographed by the crew of Artemis II had they been paying attention. "Officials" do not feel the huge objects pose a threat to Earth at this time.

Phil and Hazel Olson return on "The Doodlebug" from an afternoon in the city. They don't seem worried about the lack of railings & roof on the platform and are glad to help me check my math. (Was an easy step off, Hazel says.)

Got to see a demonstration of the amazing choreography (at a couple thousand degrees) pulled off by the team of Stephanie and Chelsea at the Popelka/Trenchard Glass Studio. This is an example of one of their simplest cast pieces.

Say it isn't true! This is one of the holiest places and one of the few relatively un-fucked up. Oil!

Just playing with shapes, color & light. These found in Granville, Ohio a few weeks back.

I'm sorry, but this rubs me the wrong way.
Wow. News to me also, tho' I've been around redwings my whole life. I too had to zoom in just to check your story.
Hmmm . . .
Life is so much easier if you're not too picky about the details.

Kinda low-slung, but generally pie-like. And tasty, too.
Is It Pie Yet?
Had one rolled-up crust left in the fridge. A few frozen peaches. A few frozen blueberries. A little evaporated milk, blueberry kefir, lemon juice. Not an egg in the house. Couldn't find my cornstarch. Will it be pie?

Quiet Day ~
One of my favorites, the little Jacquelyn Yvonne, built right here in Sturgeon Bay for the army in 1943 as ST-173, she'd later be named Manistee, then Robert W. Purcell, before becoming the Jackie. She's had a number of paint schemes; I like this one.

Yes. That is, I don't know. Something mysterious and electrical. (I think they're some kind of security things. Found them lying in the alley back of T.J.Maxx.)
Thanks for re-posting, Stephanie!

It's an amazing city. Nice photo.
Still lots to do, but this concrete arch & stone infill affair gives an idea of where I'm going with this. So far built from scraps of insulation foam that were blowing by and some foamboard/posterboard that cost $1.00.
