The demographics my company used to display (that have been removed in the DEI purge) showed it’s ~70% white men (and in tech roles, over 81% men). All mentions of diversity and equity have now been scrubbed, but we really weren’t doing so hot with it anyway, were we?

Well, my company removed the words “diversity” and “equity” from its “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” page & moved our “DEI Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer” to a new role as “VP of Open Source and AI Program Office,” if you’re wondering how things are going at US tech companies. 🤢

Recent #sourdough: pumpkin semolina + white spelt/whole wheat. I finally finished the 5 lb bag of Giant (store brand) whole wheat flour and it actually wasn’t bad - and really affordable. The taste of the pumpkin semolina was great but I didn’t love the texture - dense and sort of floppy.

Interactions with two groups of people today just have me wondering, “Why are people so mean and shitty?” In both cases, they weren’t being shitty to me, but I’m tired of politely ignoring it like I’ve always done. Because if you don’t say something, it’s as good as condoning it.
