A sidewalk runs to the left of the picture. To the right of the sidewalk, there’s a bed of crushed oyster shells. In the middle of the pic, directly to the right of the sidewalk, there is a square wooden fence about 3 feet tall and 3 feet wide. There are orange cones on the sidewalk and one on the gravel. There is a sign that asks people not to disturb the nest. It’s hard to see, but a killdeer is sitting on the nest inside of the framed fence.
This cute little killdeer just plopped her nest down right next to the sidewalk. The awesome park rangers at #machocomico built some protection for her and the babies!
