While the documentary focused on firefighting foams, PFAS exposure isn’t limited to one town or sector. These chemicals can be found in everyday products, our homes, food & drinking water.

Contamination was found on land belonging to Angus Fire, which legally produced PFAS firefighting foam from 1976-2024.

Residents & former workers shared emotional moments as blood test results were revealed. 23% of residents tested had levels of PFAS that put them in the highest risk category.

🚨 A new ITV documentary has revealed the shocking levels of toxic forever chemicals in the blood of some residents in Bentham, North Yorkshire. 

The small market town became known in 2024 for having the highest recorded PFAS contamination levels in the UK.

A new ITV documentary shines a light on how a Yorkshire market town became the most PFAS-contaminated place in the UK.

The programme follows residents and former workers in Bentham as they undergo blood testing to uncover the extent of the pollution.

🚨A new class action lawsuit on #PFASpollution has been brought forward by residents in the Dutch town of Dordrecht against the company Chemours.

👩‍⚖️ This is the latest of several PFAS collective lawsuits in the EU, following two brought forward in Belgium and Lyon.

🚨 A new study from @forbrugerraadet.bsky.social has identified problematic chemicals in 25% of 50 lip balms reviewed.

👎 9 lip balms contained suspected endocrine disrupting chemicals, and received the organisation’s lowest rating of a ‘C’.
