If you are in a senior leadership position at institution of higher learning and you regularly use generative AI to compose ridiculous, ineffective communications while at the same time trying to put out of work the people who teach others how to communicate better...you need to face yourself.

There aren't many stories that prompt gasps at our editors' daily budget meeting. But this was one.
The best author photos are when the author is holding or sitting beside an animal they love.
"Just as I long for poems that carry the wisdom and surprise of my friends’ verbal play, I hope for novels that are absorbing, like a long conversation with a friend. . ."
In our Family Secrets Folio, @jessejohnson.bsky.social reviews Morgan Talty's FIRE EXIT.

I have few regrets, but one is that I didn’t read Alice Notley sooner. I think my life would have been different, and better.

Shout out to all of the faculty and students who made it through this semester in particular. What a time to be teaching and learning in spaces that are directly under attack from people who benefited from having access to the same resources themselves.
I was happy to review a great novel in this folio. Thanks @lisaampleman.bsky.social for the opportunity. I am loving @jscheng.bsky.social ‘s craft essay here and looking forward to reading the others.
Grateful to be usually one good nap away from feeling pretty good

Interview the neighborhood dads. The guy who mows the lawn of an elderly neighbor. The people who live self-sacrificial lives that make other people’s lives better. Normalize that.
