Ohhhhh we have reached a new peak of anti government thinking
Public health is rolling in their grave
It's been hard to believe, but I've encountered a few people like that as well. Including an online therapist based in the UK I spoke with a couple weeks after Oct 7th while trying to deal with the trauma. Some people are in their own world and don't look much beyond it.
sreenshot from the new york times reporting that Stanford Universityโs provost is talking about how the loss of funding from national institutes of health funding will cost the university $160 million. thatโs not the way to get this changed โ the people think โstanford is rich; no big deal.โ leaders need to talk about what this will cost the public
for pityโs sake, I am BEGGING university leaders to stop framing this issue in terms of what this will cost the university. people dont care!
EXPLAIN WHAT THIS WILL COST THE PUBLIC: closed hospitals and clinics, skipped treatments, loss of access to experimental drugs, unemployment, recession
Or...maybe it was just a regular bird. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Ugh - it appears so.
"The Internet Archive has to date downloaded 500 terabytes of US government websites, which it crawls at the end of every presidential term
The whole archive is fully searchable
This effort's housed by a donation-funded nonprofit, not a branch of the US government"

Be aware that there is someone on here who is pretending to be an artist (with a real person's stolen pics) and offering via DM to paint your portrait. They'll even pay you to be their muse. "She" got hilariously huffy when I expressed skepticism.
You're welcome to paint me for free if you'd like!๐
Prevention - if it works, nothing happens. Hard for some to understand things they can't see.
This is extremely concerning (and not just because these are my clients). Cutting off potentially life-saving communications for political reasons is not how you improve the wellbeing of Americans.

I love this - data-driven mapping for outreach and cultural reframing of recovery services.

The shoemaker's children finally have nice new shoes!
It's been way too long since I updated my website. I've been lucky that clients have kept me so busy that I didn't have time to bother with it. But it was embarrassing.
Take a look and please let me know what you think!

They should be able to. That some of the public health agencies are no longer trustworthy is a travesty.
How awful! I'm so sorry for your huge, huge loss.
This resonates with me. My previously thriving online community has scattered to different platforms, which nearly all look and feel the same. The experience continues to degrade.

The article I co-authored on our social marketing program in Afghanistan just came out!
It's a case study of how we developed both the supply side of the soy industry and spurred demand on the consumer side. And how the campaign balanced the commercial and public health objectives.

I'd have to fly to a different country. I'm not big enough of a fan to go to those lengths. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Excellent thread of how PR is used to push specific coroprate agendae that often work against the public good - e.g. promoting cars, wide streets, and fast speeds as "good for everyone" rather than as the public health menace they really are.
One of my great regrets is that when I used to work for the campus performing arts venues in college, I was scheduled to work at the Paul McCartney concert (~30 years ago). I made it to the amphitheater, but had such a horrible eye infection I couldn't stay to work. Missed the whole thing.
I couldn't help but hear this in Cookie Monster's voice.
Me love her. But me want cookie more!!!!
You're added! ๐
