What??!! Yes I’ve had a few issues with Bluesky myself. Maybe it is overheating 🥵

Welcome and thanks 🙏
...and a #sketchnote or three
Keep us posted and inspired!
Let's keep observing, collecting data, reflecting, triangulating and importantly #LTHEchat-ing
Thanks, wonderful #LTHEchat community. You bring sparkle to the middle of the week and so so much joy.
I like your philosophy - it is easier for sure to edit than to stare at a blank page. #CatsofHE
Yes!!!
#HighFive - GAI can be a very useful rehearsal space for pedagogical reasoning by providing us with a low‑stakes, dialogic environment in which to externalise, test, challenge, and refine our teaching judgements.
Let's
1. show patterned change across lenses
2. Model good practice
A6 #LTHechat Example structure:
This intervention resulted in… (impact claim). Evidence of this was apparent when students… (student lens). A colleague noted… (peer lens). This aligns with and extends… (theory). This process challenged my assumption that… (autobiographical).
A6 #LTHechat
Purposefully collect data #EasierSaidThanDone
For a paragraph
1. Start with the change (centre)
2. Anchor it in student evidence
3. Corroborate with peer perspective
4. Interpret through theory
4. Reflect briefly on what you learned
#Scaffolding
Q6 - What tools, prompts, or stems help you get “unstuck” when reflecting?
Reply with A6 #LTHEChat and your response.
A5 #LTHEchat literature and policy agree on one thing:
No single lens is sufficient to demonstrate educational impact in HE. Impact becomes persuasive when educators consciously orchestrate evidence across lenses, rather than defaulting to theory + self‑reflection.
#RuleOfThumb #LTHEchat examining each lens and asking
If impact feels thin → strengthen the student lens
If claims feel self‑justifying → add the peer lens
If practice feels context‑bound → deepen the theoretical lens
If the narrative lacks coherence → clarify the autobiographical lens
Q5 - How do you use triangulation to show change and evidence educational impact?
Reply with A5 #LTHEChat and your response.
And the multiple POV that they bring are invaluable - especially when one is excellent in feeling like an #imposter and prone to #SelfLaceration in regards to their teaching practice #LTHEchat
#LTHEchat
1. Student evidence answers whether there was impact
2. Theory explains what kind of impact
3. Peers confirm trustworthiness
4. Autobiography shows responsibility and learning
A4 #LTHEchat its an interesting exercise to undertake in regards to evidencing lens according to the value that the end product needs to align to - perceived or actual and the associated norms.
Thinking #promotion vs #TeachingRecognition vs #PGCert vs #TeachingAwards vs #SOTL publication
Q4 - Which evidence – student, peer, autobiographical, theoretical – best helps you show impact?
Reply with A4 #LTHEChat and your response.
So so true! Little words that pack a big punch.
#HighFive - so true!!!!
Articulating impact struggles? Locating cause and effect, risk of focussing only on some voices/impact over others, also the question of how do I see my impact vs our impact, and quantification is always tricky. #LTHEChat Q1
The power of a conversation with a trusted colleague isn't to be underestimated for sure!
#LTHEchat
#SentenceStems
This intervention mattered because…
Evidence of impact was apparent when students…
A significant shift occurred in…
This experience reshaped my understanding of…
The most meaningful impact was not immediately visible, but…
A3 #LTHEchat when writing my SFHEA applciaiton all those years ago the one thing that calmed me down from stressing about "the right way to write" was reviewing an application and highlighting sentence stems - thanks Marios Hadjianastasis!
Q3 - What helps you move from describing events to interpreting their significance?
Reply with A3 #LTHEChat and your response.
That is such a challenge - the cognitive load of teaching then including capturing, reflecting, gathering data purposefully etc...
