A side-profile photograph of a white NASA Lockheed ER-2 high-altitude science aircraft touching down on a runway. The aircraft features an extremely long, thin fuselage and massive wings. The tail bears the number "806" and the classic red NASA "meatball" logo. The side of the nose reads "Armstrong Flight Research Center." A blurred chain-link fence is in the immediate foreground, and an older brick air traffic control tower is visible in the background.

Awful heat distortion out here today but finally got the chance to catch the NASA ER-2 that will be hanging out here in Colorado Springs until May supporting the GEMx mission. Started its takeoff run on 17R at taxiway A2 and was up in the air pretty quick.

I’ve been around the army for 53 years. Never been more pessimistic about the health of the institution β€” it’s likely to get much worse over the next 34 months. Rebuilding the norms and ethics of the profession is going to take a generation+.

Replacing the top Army officer with a former aide reeks of wanting to install a "yes man." Rigid hierarchies that prioritize blind compliance over honest, tactical feedback usually end up failing the people at the bottom.
